It's unique. But it's an artistic thing, so can't expect everyone to like it.

One could view it as a cross between Tenchi Muyo and Disney fairy tales. It's like they changed the color balance a bit. This succeeds in giving an other-worldly quality to El Hazard.

Can you elaborate on what bugs you about it? For example, too much color saturation, ...

the animation is fine, just watch the dvd, and i like it becuase of the story

There is a cute sub-plot to watch. The romance of Fujisawa sensei and Miss Mizz. So, it's like having two stories rolled into one....

and nanami and shayla fighting over makoto (and princess rune in wanderers)

The animation is fine. The style the creators chose to draw is nothing new, but what do you expect from an anime. Everyone has their own opinions about El Hazard overall, so if you don't like it, that's fine.
