Just finished watching this series for the first time. Wow. I liked it more than Eva (yep, the heretic adds yet another show to the list of stuff he likes better than Eva :p) Obviously like every other anime ever made it wasn't perfect and I have a few questions/comments.

1) Does anyone know why Tataki called Sakura Chukawa? I don't think they ever went into detail on this.

2) So, anyone who actually liked the way they handled episode 14? Great back story and plenty of answers but jeez, they did it in virtually the worst way possible. Tataki & Wakagi on a bench and a totally useless new character called Maestro is not exactly the way I would have answered everything. Oh well, maybe they had a small budget like in Eva. That would certainly explain why they handled it in such an odd way.

The ending was a bit choppy. It was almost like the creators decided to show how clever they were by adding tons of stuff at the end to be surprising.

Well, I like how they end with the two movies, and a lot of exposition explaining things was a refreshing break from the formula. I think the fact that we *mostly* understand what is going on in episode 15 makes it all the better. I don't think the ending was spectacular, but I think it stuck with the feel of the show very well.
