Saw some of the movie Dark City last night and was reminded of how similar it was to Big O. Those of you who like me enjoyed the whole memories and the whole city atmosphere thing will probably enjoy it.

Those who liked the Winter Night Phantom episode will probably enjoy the movie 12 Monkeys which has a very similar premise (the whole dream thing).

Yeah, not exactly typical forum fare but we need something to talk about in this forum, don't we? :p

Sheex - I didn't respond because I haven't seen Dark City. I know what it's about, but I never got around to renting it, so it's sort of hard to comment on how Big O relates to the feel.

On my personal take, I thought it was vaguely reminiscent of Metropolis (yes the old 1910's black and white silent film). Since a book with the same title popped up in the last episode I'm wondering if they used it for inspiration.

><;;

Damn it, I need to finish this series.

One of the few movie DVDs I have is Dark City, which is a great flick. I can definitely agree with the comparisons and similarities. The memory theme, the flashbacks, the retro feel...although I can't think of any character comparisons off the top of my head.
