Minor Trigun spoilers ahead.
Episode 3 of Trigun, "Peace Maker" contains a quote I found interesting. As Vash is walking up to do battle with the bad guys, one of the characters asks him why he's sticking his neck out, why he's getting involved. Vash responds, "Because this situation is not equal," making a point by use of previous conversation that dealt with things being equal.
For some reason that just screamed Karla at me. I've only seen the OVA series, so I don't know anything about her during the other episodes, but I remember she said she got involved in Lodoss' troubles so no one power would remain dominant.
I don't know why I'm posting this, but I jumped out at me. I wonder what Karla would think of Vash.

Karla may have appreciated his ideas, but her mind has become distorted throughout the centuries, and she is now obsessed with her belief in maintaining the balance, the point that she would likely dismiss Vash as "just another mortal."
In truth, he really is just that compared to her. Even if he managed to get through her force fields and kill her current body, the rules of her spell say that either anyone who touches her circlet or anyone who kills the current body she is in becomes the next body for Karla.
Anyway, Karla's philosophy is that the reason war happens, or at least the reason exceedingly terrible wars that lead to complete annihilation are the result of one or more sides gaining too much power. When the power shifts, war is declared by the greedy who desire to gain even more power, and those without power are wiped out from the face of Forceria.
Karla believes, in her twisted mind, that she is protecting Forceria, particularly the continent of Lodoss since her actions in Alecrast, Crystania, and the Forgotten Islands seems limited. She believes that by causing early wars, prior to the build up of power, she will decrease the power of both sides, thus stopping complete destruction. In her mind, the death of 300 thousand soldiers in a war is better than a war that leads to complete destruction of everything, which is true, but the logic she uses to justify what she does is completly flawed.

If you mean Leylia ('R' in Japanese is 'L' in English), then yes, she picked it up. Apparently Marfa did contain Karla in some fashion, because even if the circlet is removed from the body, anyone it touches will become possessed. In fact, I don't know if Karla is gone for good after the TV series.
yeah, i was talking about leylia(watched the subbed version) so shouldn't leylia be possessed by karla again if that's the case since she picked up the circlet?

I believe Marfa had something to do with her not being possessed, but I'm not sure. I don't know if Karla returned after that incident. Most of the truly epic things, that I know of at least, did not occur on Lodoss during the Age of Valar and beyond. Some things happend on Alecrast, I think, but most of the action took place on Crystania and that other continent beneath it (I always forget its name).
hmm, thanks for clearing up then. Marfa seems to be the all mighty one lol. btw i've been to kashue.com. he doesn't update the site very often i see, and there's quite a number of broken links. other than kashue.com, is there any other sites for general information? and btw, is there only one episode of lodoss island at the end of the last episode of the tv serie? the one where they say pow pow parn? or there's one for every episode of the tv serie

Pow Pow Parn was said in the very first Lodoss Island thing. That followed the very first episode.
There are 27 episodes of the Lodoss Island Super Deformed special. One follows every episode.
sigh... i guess u don't know where i can get the other 26 episodes of lodoss island rite~ haiz...

You'll have to do some explaining, because you say you have watched the entire TV series, correct? And you say you watched the subtitled version, which means you certainly didn't watch it on Toonami's reactor, as I believe Toonami only shows dubbed, but I could be wrong.
So why haven't you seen the other Lodoss Island things? I own all 9 tapes of the Record of lodoss War TV series, each tape has 3 episodes, and each one has the Lodoss Island Super Deformed special following it.
I don't know how you saw the series, but if you bought the VHS tapes I KNOW that you should have them. The DVD SHOULD have them with all that extra space.
Since you've already seen it, no use in buying the tapes just for that, you might as well see if you can download the little specials from off the internet somewhere, that is if you really want to see them.
i bought the vcd if that's any useful info...
