What's your opinion on Caska's realization of her dream? Ever since she ran into Griffith she has devoted and swore complete allegiance to him. She is the most unfortunate to me since she's insulted over and over for being a woman. She is admirable at the same time since she's able to rise up in rank and be Griffith's right hand. Even in the end, when Griffith sacrificed his own army to the gods, did she accept Griffith/Femto?

The raping of Caska was the most gruesome and disturbing scene aside from rivers of blood portrayed in Berserk, except she may have wanted that to happen. She did devote her whole life to be by Griffith's side, she wanted to be his sword. I'm not clear with what actually happens to Caska after the events that unfolded on episode 25, though I hear that she does survive, is pregnant with Gatt's baby, though is mentally disturbed by her being raped by Griffith.

Do you think she was able to realize her dream? Griffith became a new member of the gods and Gatts finally found a reason to live other than weild his sword. How about Caska?

Dammit, I'm tired of this. I'm renting those last episodes tonight. I need to rewatch them so bad...

By the time the anime ended, I'll be honest and say I had forgotten completely about Caska except in a "OH MY GOD! WHAT ABOUT HER!?" sense. I don't remember wondering if her dream was ever reached because I was focused on the Griffith-Gatts conflict. So, in that respect, I don't think she did accomplish her dream.

I'll post something better in a few days, I swear. :(

I never actually thought about Caska's dream. Yes, she was very devoted to Griffith because she always loved him and respected him. Her dream probably was to realize Griffith's dream. However, I don't think she wanted something like that to happen to her in the end, who would? I doubt if anyone in the Hawks would ever thought Griffith would sacrifice them for his dream. Therefore, accepting Femto/wanted to get raped or killed was out of the question even if she worship him like a god. I don't think that was the case.

When I say the last episode all I could think was "THAT'S THE &%$@ END?!?!?!"

I don't think she achieved her dream. Yes, Griffith got what he wanted (which was part of her dream), but I doubt she wanted him to obtain power at the price he did.

According to what I know of the manga (all second-hand info).................................................. ........................................

Afterwards Caska and Gatts survive (as well as Rickert) after being saved by someone, I think, is called Skull Knight. Caska, mentally disturbed by her being raped by Griffith, becomes pregnant with Griffith's baby (not Gatts). Gatts goes on his mission to defeat the demons and saves and befriends a fairy (something likethat) named Puck who becomes his sidekick of sorts. Later Griffith/Femto defeats that big demon guy , Z---- (I don't rememeber) the Immortal, forcing him into servitude. Femtos/Griffith then becomes human again by somehow possessing or being reborn (yet he's an adult again so I guess there was an accelerated aging or such and such) as Caska's child. Unfortunately, he is still a baddie and, as far as I know, Caska is still insane at this point.

If anyone can add to or correct me, pleeze do.

Kayay's got it mostly right except for the part about the baby. The baby is actually Caska's and Guts', only supposedly when Femto raped Caska the fetus was exposed to an undeniable evil that caused it to make a choice to become evil (instead of normal or good or whatever babies in that world are naturally born as). If you read the later volumes of the manga the Skull Knight (I think) describes a little bit about the situation every time he shows up.

So essentially, Griffith (when he's reborn) takes the life of Caska/Guts' (evil) baby and uses it's form/body/whatever to rebirth himself into the human world so he can become king.

Massive S-P-O-I-L-E-R-S for those who haven't read the manga (up to vol. 30), DO NOT READ THE FOLLOWING...

There's actually a lot of debate/confusion/wondering going on concerning Griffith's use of the baby to bring himself back into the world. I think it's volume 29 or somewhere near it where we see the child Caska finds walking along the beach. It bears a strong resemblance to Caska & there are allusions up the wazzu to it being the child of Caska and Guts. The child dissapears from the party again though, and currently the manga's on a cliffhanger concerning that issue.
