There will presumably be spoilers in this thread. You have been warned!!!

Recently I've reading/viewing a lot of Masakazu Katsura's work.
ie/ I''s, Video Girl Ai, and specifically DNA^2.

I just finished all of DNA^2 about 20 minutes ago (the manga, so if you've only seen the series, this may not apply), and was wondering about the ending... is it that it? It seemed so abrupt. While it was fairly evident in that Ami was the one who got Junta, what happens to Karin?? We will never find out if she got the happy life she sought after so badly.
Is this explained any better in the series?

Also on like the second or third last page, just before Junta tells Karin that he won't let her go, it appears that the Megaplayboy dna has taken over. Is this the case? I thought he had conquered it??!

It was a good ending though, but I was sort of hoping for an ending suited for Karin's happyness... it almost brings a tear to my eye ;)

Oh yeah, finally, what can I expect from the series? Is it almost exactly the same? How long is it? (try not to spoil anything different than in the manga :) )

Well, i haven't seen the animated series, but if i remember what i read in the past right the ending is pretty much as disapointing as the manga's. It unfortunately seems that disapointing endings are almost a sort of bad habit from Katsura. The devellepment manages to strongly hook you until the end and then *bang* he concludes it all on one page, finished, niet, no more.

I think the ending of the anime was made to be more definite than the one in the manga. Karin goes home. The End.
The manga sorta left a possibility for a sequel.

I don't really know what the anime is like. I am trying to get a hold of it currently.
I can only it hope it is just as good. My original post was a little clouded because I had just finished the manga, but in retrospect the ending was quite good.

the anime is good but its different from the manga in many ways, since the anime is shorter than the manga :D but i have both and i like both a lot :D yeah the ending for the animated series was much shorter while the one in the manga was a tad longer since karin stayed a while, while in the anime she just left

I really like the anime. It's short enough for non-anime fanatics to watch it.

Maybe sometime I'll get the manga.

Oh definately get it. If you're concerned about length, stop your worrying, it is only 5 volumes, so it isn't tough to get through in a very short period of time (as I learnt), of course then you just wish they had made it longer. ;)

Yep, another Katsura work with a poor ending. I preferred I"s to DNA^2, but it was still quite enjoyable.

I'll be seeing the anime soon enough, too.

I should be getting the I's manga as well as love hina volumes 1-12 and dna soon.

Is I''s also a katsura work?

And didn't Katsura do Video Girl AI?

If you're a fan of Katsura's work then you will no doubt love I''s.
It is a a little more down to earth than VGA or DNA^2. There is nothing out of the ordinary, nothing ridiculous happens that really shouldn't, which makes it much easier to relate to.
Plus Iori is arguably the cutest character Katsura has ever drawn. :D
You should really try and get a hold of it.

There is another thread in General about I''s, but I don't think it would help describe it any better, just give away spoilers, and provide fanservice from the series. :heh:
