Just post a reply saying "I want Card Captor Sakura to be kept the way it is when aired on TV!"

I mean, REALLY. The worst things in that show is Kero sayin: "Sh*t".
*in exaggerated tone* Oh boy, someone phone the police, a stuffed animal swore on public TV....-.- And to think....Japan's crime rate is lower with all their uncensored stuff.....>.>

HOE!!!

i'd never knew that Kero (American ver.) would say such vulgar words...

EvilDracy

Well, Kero does, in the Japanese version of the Shield card.

are ypu sure..lots of people have CLAIMED charcatrers have sweared in children's cartoons only to find out it was just a lie or misunderstanding. i remember 3 magic beans said that F**K was said in the japaneese Transformers the movie....i checked the translation and what do you know? it was a lie:rolleyes:

It was in the fansubs, so yes, I am sure. (plus my extremely obsessed anime friend, said so..no wait......damn, I can't remember....>.> But I do believe he said that. It was in the subs!!)

suzaku

oic...

if you've saw it in subs...it could be that the fansubbers deliberately used THE WORD

Eddy
16-01-02, 08:26 AM
Yeah, subbers can put any word they like in...he probarbly said dawm but the translator came up with ----.

EvilDracy

Fan subbers can be very swear happy. Though i have seen the odd 'hell' and 'bastard' turn up in dubbs were they went in subbs.

Eddy

hell you could put anything in a subb
there were even a few comedy subbs somewhere

Sacrilage! Naa, you just have to be more choosy about the fansubbers. They do tend to be more literal in their translations but you should prefer them over the "nice" translations that come with an official release. But then, they do get things wrong from time to time :heh: (statement made whilst ignoring ADV's Eva debacle(sp))

Boosting the petition... the evil CardCaptors is probably one more reason to hate america...

My biggest prob with the d*** american CardCaptors version is Tomoyo... They destroyed her role and took the hidden love story out of the anime... that is punishable by death in my book

*sings* "i hate america..."

Err, they did it under the direction of WB, kedo... :heh:

Anyway, apparently there are at least 2 versions of the dub. Though I can't be sure cuz I haven't seen the American eps, it's said that the Australian version was "less butchered" than the American one. I also heard there was a bilingual DVD (not sure if Nelvana dubbed that though) which would require a complete dub of the eps.

oh yeah...

hate also WB

I wouldn't hate them, just hate western society ideals.

Too many westerns still see any form of animation as cartoons made for children so if dubbing companies don't market it that way they think loss money. And basically that's all they care about in the end. Making money. Pissing a few hundred loyal anime fans is water of a ducks back to them I guess.

still s***s me though.

The undubbing of CCS.... not gonna happen.

As for the uncartooning of anime. Ummmm... you ok? :confused2

The first thing that needs to be changed is the western view and pereception of anything that is animated. It is just assumed that b/c its in an animated form that it is strictly for kids. Once (and if) you change that, you can start to go after the Western Companys and actually have them make smart decisions and not butcher so many of shows.

As for the comments about Companies not caring about the loyal fans... your right. They dont' care. They can make more profit by grabing the attention of the masses and getting them to buy their product, vs them actually releasing it unadultered and having the few dedicated fans purchase the product. Purpose of a company is to make money... thats the bottom line in the end.

hai hai

some companies think about sales growth and profits and not the otakus which is the source of their revenue...

anime is not cartoons and a hate all cartoons (apart from the x-men) and to be true, these are just meaningless compersations (man, can i spell better than that?) that will not make any difference!!!

EvilDracy
16-02-02, 01:55 PM
At least it started a conversation...even if it is meaningless and companies never listen. :o

suzaku
16-02-02, 06:02 PM
in the first place...the companies will never ever listen to the otakus but just to their executives
