haha, so gasco live eh... I'm sure that will make a lot of ppl happy. Now I gotta go back and watch that ep where she "dies".
Also at the end of ep 12, there's a little boy, what so he's the one controling all of this? 13's gonna be crazy, and it doesn't seem to end it there. Don't they have to go back to earth one of these days? They better make a third stage hehe.

Actually, I'm very ticked at them for doing that, and I am not the only one who thinks this way. That revival cheapened the drama in the previous episodes.

i know!!! i totally agreed, cause all these people were saying gasco is not gonna die because that would be too sad, but i truely believe that she did.... why they have to bring her back, oh well it's not all that bad.

anywayz, i luv how everyone got together!!! finally some team work!

I agree that it was kinda cheap to bring her back...though an interesting twist would be to bring her back, but changed ala Borg-style and help the Earth ships fight everyone else...but of course, there wouldn't be enough episodes left for that. I believe something like Gascogne turning on her former crewmembers would have been the only credible "non-cheap" way to bring her back.

But I did feel better at seeing the allied fleet beating the living bejesus out of the Earth ships. Kinda reminded me of those Alliance/Shadow battles from Babylon 5. I've heard a lot of people saying Ozeki, from the Vanguard veteran squad, pretty much looks like Jet Black's long lost grandfather - course, the way he fights, you wouldn't think he's that old...

blah, i read it and ruined it for myself as well...(by accident)

yea, honestly, sometimes i wish anime characters would just stay dead T_T not that i didnt know she wasnt gonna come back anyway (it was sorta obvious..)..

they shoudlve let her die..it makes the series less predictable..not that i dont like gascogne anyway..she's one of my favorite chars ^_^

I don't think it was that predictable, unless you just thought it right off the bat. All indications pointed to her not having a shred of survival after a total ram on the ship like that. The "memorial cabinet" scene with Magno and Barnette's eventual replacement and taking over of the register for 5 episodes - not 1, 5...tends to show them moving on from Gascogne's supposed death.

The reason that I think the return is cheap is not because it was predictable, IMO, but because they had done such a good job of making her out to be dead that we had already locked it away in our minds as a "dramatic" event. Like Cyfith said, it slightly cheapened the poignancy of episodes 5 and 6.

That being said, I still thought the last couple of episodes were still a good ending to the series (left me wanting more, but it was nice overall).
