Battle Athletes!

Well i started to watch Battl Atheletes today ive watched the first 2 eps im planning on watching the rest hopefully soon, boy waht an anime! its godamm funny! i luv Ichino shes has the be the best athelete besides Jesse GUrtland and that German gal with the silver hair (cant remember her name) oh i really hate that Ling Pha grr! cheating in the Bike Hard race!!! Akari should of won!! well anyway this is a gret anime and i luv it!! oh and how and are there any ovas or movies?

There is a 6 part OAV series.., & a 26 episode TV series.., I've only seen the 6 part OAV..., & I found it to be rather disjointed & slow-going in places..., the animation, & chars designs are cool..., but I just couldn't get into the characters themselves...,

I saw the TV series, and I didn't like it. It's funny at times, but not enough to make the whole series totally enjoyable. It's rather boring despite the good animation.

I was expecting some major male characters to enter the picture, (maybe some good old conventional anime romances) but that didn't happen.

And the storyline is really ridiculous. Wait till you get to the end.

OVA= You can skip watching this even though it did come out before the TV series... if you want to watch it just b/c go ahead, otherwise just skip it.

Movie= Huh? Was there one? Can't recall.

TV Series= Definitely was rather funny and cute. It was slightly above average and had some memorable moments and characters. However its does follow the typical flow of general anime and if you want something unique, generally speaking if you aren't new to anime I wouldn't recommend it. However if you were just starting off on anime, I prolly would tell you to watch it so you could start to get a grasp on the different forms of anime that is out there. The one thing that really annoyed me throughout the series was Akaris' attitude at times... it just got really old really fast and the fact that everyonce inawhile it would flare over the boilig point made me want to chuck something at the tv. The other thing, is the "Akari House". Yes it was cute the first 2 times, but the third one only served to feed my annoyance with her self-doubting attitude. :redhot:

Overall: Not Average, Yet not completely outstanding, but still recognized. I'd watch it again if I could, but never bothered to buy the dvds. Oh well. :heh:

sounds like most people find Battle Athletes on ok anime, but i like it and that all that matters go Akari house!!

Battle Athletes is very very cute and is seems aimed at a young girl audience.

I'm a sucker for that sort of show (i.e. Pretty Sammy) so I really liked it. It's not for everyone. I agree, the story line is totally absurd. The first half episode of the OVA is painful when it explained how things got where they were.

Luckily, it is one of the not-so-expensive series to pick up now. Be careful not to bid too much on eBay when it's cheaper directly from a vendor.

eh i actually enjoyed the OAV more....but the tv series was pretty good too..personally, i think its an underrated anime..but i guess thats just me?

its pretty good, but the story does get ridiculous at the times..

its still fun to watch tho...

I remember seeing a couple eps a few months back. But for the life of me, I can't figure out if I was watching the OAV or the TV series :confused:
How do I know which is which? (I saw it at a club I don't attend frequently, so it is difficult for me to just ask.)
I really wanted to see me more...

I was recently introduced to the first four episodes of the TV series. Decided that it had to go to my 'must-acquire-once-I-get-money' list when I finally stopped laughing ^_^

How is the OAV compared to the TV?

I like the OVA, but have seen only a couple volumes of the TV series.

The TV series has a more ridiculous plot, but also more details.

The OVA is shorter, more intense and something your non-anime friends might like to see rather than an 8-volume series.

Actually, I wouldn't dare trying to show any kind of anime to my non-anime friends. The one time I did show them Ghost in the Shell was no success. Of course the problem may be that there are no potential anime fans left among my non-anime friends ^_^

Neither. The OVA's are set in a seperate timeline, where an alien invasion occurs before the start of the series.

There are quite a few changes, one of the biggest is Anna...

I think I saw the tv series...with mr. miracle. The gay inuendo. It had it's funny moments and the ending was totally out there. It was ok....not my favorite.
