i ddnt know it was gona be such a downer... ..damn..

damn...

part of me wants to watch it again for a second run through the plot and the other half doesnt want to sit through it again alone in the dark with noone to cry with.

for anyone that hasnt seen it, well, i dont wana spoil it but you can probably get an idea from my reaction of ".....(staring at the screen for minutes after it ended)......damn.". oh, and theres some hardcore violence in a few scenes, not throughout the whole thing, but when theyr there, they are hard to miss. the plot and animation was all very well produced.

i want to hurry up and go do something to get my mind of it for a while.

damnit

*possible spoiler stuff*

turn back now!

ok, heres how it would have been a badass movie with a good ending:

he pulls a super comando badass(TM) and kills everone there but her, and they run off and live hapily ever after!

i mean really, he was suposed to be the most badass guy they had when it came to combat, why not stand up for something you belive in you @!$%. id never kill someone i ddnt want to. and id also seek out the real family of that girl to talk to them if there was one, if not, id probably super comando badass(TM) my way into the group she was in for some answers. and id live hapily ever after with that girl, the end.. yep its a better end, you know it.

......

anyway, anyone have any ideas on the "message" of the movie?

ok, im out, i gotta sleep and do stuff in the morning so i wont see responses for about 10 hours.

Its all about perspective, do you think of the greater good or do you want to be selfish. It actually wasn't his choice but her own, if you had notice how she recite the way it ends with little red riding hood(Hardcore story) as the tears flow from her eyes, you can see the desperation in the tone of her voice, that she knew they could never escape and also that they will always be on the run. Sacrificing herself is the least she could do, also remember that the guy in the barn is also aiming his gun at them just in case the guy(sorry, Nagha still has my DVD, so I can't check on his name) couldn't pull it off. It isn't called Jin Roh(wolf pack) for show, so it didn't just consist of one elite, the guy in the barn and all the others around him are also elite troopers, their sole requirement is being the best of the best, other special forces troops couldn't get in even if they begged for it. And you know the special force troops ain't a bunch of pussies.

i doubt if they left the contry much effort would be put into finding them, she was a pretty low level pawn and theyd just replace him. and lets say were not rewriting the story till the very end, he is still in his armor -helmet and machine gun agaist 2 older guys, id give him favorable odds.

so what was the message? if it wasnt a happily ever after movie, there needs to be a point, something the creators want to say, that can only be made with a sad ending. if theres no message, than all it ends up being is a pointless story that is needlessly ending sadly. i just look for a message, a point to it all. things without a deeply thought message that have a downer of an ending loose big points to me. i dont feal like sitting around for 2 hours and fealing like ---- in the end for nothing.

so what was the message? life sucks and if you get in over your head you should just give up? seems that way. at the end of the day you should let you personal beliefs go so you can fit in with the pack? (he was showing some clear signs of not wanting to kill her) good messages if your watching manic depressive melodramatic theater.

i also have alot more to say about sad endings but its kinda off topic.

so dont forget kids, if the ---- hits the fan, you best give up and die.

Thanks for the introduction.

After recently viewing this gem of a movie, having been anticipating watching it since august, I must say i enjoyed it. (though i think the middle dragged more than a wee) Correct, I LOVED the ending. Loved. Ending. Loved ending.

I saw the message as such -
The predator in man's clothing remains still the predator.

Its not a kiddie ass movie, its one about life and the human experience after great upheaval and tragedy on the road to recalaiming order with force, a happy ending wouldn't have suited this image.

You forget that there is a big secret behind her death, its blackmail. The Jin Roh are using the girl as a means to force the issue with the police force and the the politician. Once either of the afore mention grouping get to her, than the Jin Roh lose a huge advantage they cannot afford to lose, since they are targeted for termination. And as much as you would like to deny it, death is the only sure way to keep a secret. I was expecting that she would die or the ending would not have such an impact as it did. Also when the politicians wants them dead, the police force wants them dead, the special force wants them dead and the Jin Roh faction wants them dead, would you think that there is a way out of Japan for them?

i did forget that message. i disagree with its truth in the world so it didnt really sit with me. because i think "!@#$ what people think, ill do what i want", read- i wouldnt do something i didnt belive in( the "people" i refer to are people in genral, not indaviduals i care about). i think going agaist what you want to do, a set of morals maybe, is like haveing no personal honor. and without that, your just another bar code in the machine.

my personal beliefs obviously have a lot to do with my opinion. it was a good movie, i just dont agree with the ending, or the truth in most of what built up to it.

na, i ddnt forget all that. people killing defenceless people to maintain job security. you can be part of the solution and take a stand, or part of hte problem and go with the pack.

and i bet theyd have a good chance of disapearing.

I don't think they can escape anyway.... Even if they can, where would they go?? especially they will always be living in fear of someone finding out... always on the run etc...
The red riding hood knew that she will be killed, I guess she would rather die in his hands than some other guys!

But the ending is too sad!! *sobs*
After I was the ending, I was still sitting there, couldn't believe it!! especially most of the time, I didn't even get the storyline!! :(

You must really wonder what was going through his mind when he pull the trigger. I don't know if he'll ever go back to his old self, but then again, he is train to kill... kill without a concious.... you could say he enjoyed it.

The world is full of evil and Pain

There is more to it than him killing her because he didn't think he could escape. He might or might not have been able to escape Japan; that isn't the point. The point is, he wouldn't be able to escape himself.

Great movie. I need to watch it again.

You have to remember that the whole thing was the wolf inside Fusa, the old man... can't remember his name... gave him the option "do you want to leave the pack?" In the end though, Fusa knew he was right, with what he had done (killed his own friend among others) would he be able to live with himself outside the way of the beast? He knew he had to stay in the role of the predator, or else his past would have ate away at him. Besides, a wolf can never be human after all.
