Books VS the Anime

Which are the better of all the Robotechs? the books or the Anime?

I'm partial to the books(mostly because the Max/Miria fight in the third one... MUCH better than the Anime...)

I'd go with the anime. The McKinney books are good, but he took alot of liberties with the storyline sometimes. So I wouldn't take everything in the books as Robotech canon.

the cool thing about thebooks is that you get more detail into waht the characters are thinking and how some of the things work like the "thinking cap" and the battles seem much more intense in the book. But like isamu said McKinney took a lot of liberties with the books. SOme are good some bad but what I really like about the books is you get to see what happens inbetween the ROBOTECH wars like the Zentraedi rebellions on earth after Macross. You also get to finally experience Rick's journey to the ROBOTECH Masters home planet in the ROBOTECH The Sentinels.

Be careful when reading the books though since they are not ordered in the proper timeline. Heres a list that I created in my original ROBOTECH thread of what order the books should be read in:
