I like Mireille because she's the most "down-to-earth" type of them.
I like Kirika-chan, because she's the cutest of three (naturally).
I like Chloe, because she's so cool and fearless, and she has the nicest outfit yet.
I can't really pick one, so I'll pick three instead. =)

Sadly, I must be rather unoriginal and claim Kirika-chan as my favorite. She has a greater degree of depth than the other characters in Noir and sports the 'cute' factor.
I do find Mireille very attractive, more so than Kirika in fact, but she was not so well engineered as a character.
For pure and undiluted foxiness I feel Shaori deserves mention. I just love the way she looks! ;)
I wonder which character might be Ronin's favorite? :p

Ah, sorry for the confusion...I am just loathe to add the <sarcasm> </sarcasm> tabs as they have always struck me as a little too blatant.
But in this case, feel free to imagine the question about Ronin placed squarely between them. :)
My favorite is Mireille.
A strong woman who thinks about what she's gonna do, and then does it.
She rocks.
I already said Mireille rox but I guess I'll vote again (sure, why the heck not).
MI-RE-IYUUUU~
She seems natural in a way I find almost inexplicable... It was tough decision on my part though.

Have you seen Ronin's picture of her in a catgirl suit yet?
It was almost enough to change my mind...neko kawaii.
I like Kirika. I like the way she said "Yosho". So kawaii.
But I do not like her other personality. The one which makes her eyes smaller.

That is to say, I hope, irrelevantly unnecessary sexuality? :D
Also, watch your back to anybody who draws sexually degrading doujinshis involving Kirika-Chan. ;)
Now, if its consensual, loving sex, and she's happy and fulfilled as a result, I'm fine. ;)
But the stomach of the author (if I ever catch him) will meet the business end of my samurai sword if he dares to have her raped, beaten, bonded or inhaling a man. :mad2:
Oh belive me, a live bladed stainless steel specimen can be easily accquired at The Queen Victoria Market of Melbourne in Australia for a very reasonable price of $120 dollars Australian. :D And I have. :kawaii:
A post on the Noir Ezboards has regretfully confirmed the production of such filth involving Kirika-Chan being defiled by two thugs in a Chicago Alleyway. The author had better pray for his sake that I do not ever find out where he lives and what he looks like. :kawaii:

I must admit that I harbor a great dislike toward the way in which people defile characters.
People who comment on, for example, Ayanami's breasts are nothing more than pathetic and shallow. They attempt to taint her pure image and perfection with their foul and dirty thoughts!
She is unaffected, as nothing could even manage such an evil feat, but should not be subjected to it regardless! I do not dwell on the money I had to hand over to Jason so he could buy a new DVD; I was right and fully justified in destroying the utter filth that was his NGE hentai tape. He forced me to watch it, and it did not withstand my wrath.
Ronin? I like Kirika, and see that you appreciate her in much the same ways I do Ayanami. I can relate to it, and feel your threats are justified in every sense, bar that of the foul-minded lust that so many give in to.
I own two heron-mark swords (for those who know the WoT series of books) and attend lessons from time to time. Provided they are not too phallic, may I help you in your righteous quest for justice?

Of course you may, fellow warrior.
And concerning the phallic nature of all our weapons, nothing wrong with a little masculinity now and then, is there? :D
And we'll be sure to contact Mister Tekbalde as soon as our crusade commences, won't we? :D
Also, by the way.
A) What nationality is your weapon? Katana? Broadsword? Cavalry Sabre? ETC?
B) What is WoT?
:heh: Do pardon my ignorance. :heh:
PS.
Anyone who beds our Kirika-Chan won't be automatically condemned to death. We love her, but we are not barbarians. :heh:
However, he had better damn well be prepared to love her, protect her, stay faithful to her, make her happy, respect her and treat her right. :)
Should he fail.... ;)

Thank you kindly, I am honored.
As for the nationality of the weapons...I can only say that they originated in the mind of an author by the name of Robert Jorden (who likes to be called that for some reason...perhaps because his real name is James Oliver Rigby Jr. :P ).
WoT is the short-hand version of the series title from which the sword comes; Wheel Of Time. In any case, I am sure they will suffice for the task at hand.
http://store6.yimg.com/I/greatsword_1662_4729456
The blade is curved slightly, at a similar angle to that of a katana, but is longer.
By the way, I think that perhaps we should consider some other tactic (slower, more painful, yes?) for use in the case of artists who involve tentacles in their foul works. They do, after all, deserve special treatment. :D

12-03-02, 09:30 PM

Indeed it does. Looks similar to Van and Allen's katana actually ..
hence, the intresting mixture of a traditional oriental katanablade with medieval highlights.

I for one do not feel threatened in any way by Mireille. In fact I find her to be quite attractive, having collected wallpapers featuring her long before I actually had chance to view Noir. She is pretty darn foxy, very well formed and beats Kirika-chan hands down, if the criteria for comparison is largely based upon whom, as a ‘heterosexual male’, I would prefer to jump into a sack with.
That said and out of the way, I can once again firmly restrain the more base and perverse aspects of my human nature, allowing me to appreciate things in ways other than those driven primarily by lust.
I favor Kirika-chan in Noir over Mireille for a number of reasons, not one of which is in any way sexual. I think that in many cases the fact that people show a special regard for Kirika is a testament to how they do not allow their libido to govern their thinking, a trait I find most admirable.
One thing that I find contributes to Kirika’s appeal is her seemingly greater depth of character. Her past is a mystery, that being one of the main focuses of the anime itself and thus a rather highly developed plot element, whereas Mireille’s past, while not known immediately, is not nearly so enigmatic or interesting.
Mireille also seems able to take care of herself, after all she has been an assassin long enough to become known as a ‘reliable contract killer’ and seems to be well set up from the beginning. Kirika-chan is in starkly different circumstances, however. She is faced with a hostile world, not knowing why she is hunted or who hunts her, and has no memory of herself or her previous way of life. She is in need of help and comfort, both of which I (as well as many others, so it seems) would very much like to see her receive.
We become emotionally involved with her, wanting to see her happy, her suffering brought to an end. All I felt for Mireille was a little pity near the end of the series, because she was cast out of the ‘group’ and left with nothing. Even then she seemed to be fairly well in control of herself and her circumstances, bargaining with Soldats and finding the village without incident. She was independent and able to take care of herself (I refer to daily life and personal management, as she does become entrapped a few times during the series), Kirika was less so.
I also felt that Kirika’s voice acting was of a slightly higher quality than Mireille’s. Do not take this wrongly, I thought Mireille’s VA was brilliant, and most of the voices in the series fit well with the characters they had been attached to, but Kuwashima Houko really excelled. She put emotion into every sigh, and thankfully did not lend herself to screaming or whimpering in the overly pathetic manner that many characters tend to when suffering or in pain.
Oh, and of course Kirika-chan is just Kawaii! :kawaii: *tickles his new avatar under the chin*

How can you find self inserting fanfics of you being humiliated more fun than fics in which you kill people you hate?
Believe me, it is much more theraputic to symbolically destroy those who have done you wrong, for you'll go to jail in real life if you do it literally. Your suppressed rage and grief can be healthily released. ;)
Writing fanfics about killing those whom you hate is therefore the most theraputic form of writing in this peaceful day and age. ;)
