Macross

I have seen Macross Plus and consider it the greatest anime ever. But I have not seen its prequal (Robotech) or its Sequal (Macross 7).

Are either Robotech or Macross 7 any good???

Robotech is great but very unlike Plus, its more central on the WAr that Preceeeded Macross Plus, ie. Zenotraedi vs Humans. Macross 7 is OK and is set after the events of Plus, nowhere near as good though

well robotech is great but not like plus, as for 7... i do not like the concept (but thats just me)

and yes, I do find Macross Plus a great anime maybe in par if not better than NGE...

I have yet to see any of the Robotech/Macross stuff yet. Apparently I should start geting into it. What is the order in which they were released and how many series are there?

Right, heres the order.

1) Macross - SDF 1 main character is Rick Hunter a fighter pilot fighting the Zenotraedi.
2) Robotech: Southern Cross - Dana Sterling is in charge of a tank battalion fighting the Robotech masters.
3) macross 2 I think goes here, theres also a third generation that I have never seen.
4) Macross Plus
5) macross 7
I think DYRL the movie goes between the 2 series,

Ive seen Macross Plus, and Robotech the series, i enjoyed the series more, but they're both great.

i have a few Questions

1) in macross plus shouldent the sdf1 be dead after all kiron smashed into it.

2) is the animaton in macross2 any good the covers realy suck

1) It was severely crippled and if you look at it in Plus it doesnt look that great. Plus is set over 25 years after it was destroyed, of course it would be rebuilt as a symbol if nothing else. Also the SDF-2 would have to go down as the biggest waste of resources ever. I mean it lasted about 5 minutes.

2) its not bad although it has that real 80's style to it that you either love or hate. personally I dont like it much but it conveys the action well enough and the mecha is slightly less Sucky than the Southern Cross Planes
