Do you think MKR will ever be shown on CN? Would it be a good candiate? Would it fare well or fail miserably with a U.S. audience? Let's see some responses. :)
there's a slim chance that MKR will be broadcasted on CN but try to pray that CN will obtain the license on MKR ^_^

Well, the only possiblity I can see is if CN obtained a liscence and then did their same terrible job cutting out all the nudity and violence possible.

What nudity? The only thing close to that is the transformation sequence in the first episode(unless there's some in the second season. I haven't really seen that part) which isn't much different than the sailor moon one. And the only real bad violence is in the episode with the moster that's attracted by blood. Other than that it seems like mostly clean stuff to me...

it's mostly clean but do you think CN will retain the intro and/or ending???

The opening would probably be cut, as I've rarely seen a time when CN has shown them. The ending will probably remain unchanged, as there's no questionable material in it.

I think it it would do well on TV. While it's a little below what Adult Swim is looking for, I think it would fit fairly well in with Toonami, as it has a decent amount of action (as much as Sailormoon, at least). There's also fairly little to edit. From what I've seen so far (the first season, and some of the second) there's just a little bit of language (not sure about the dub, actually), and maybe a bit of nudity if they're going to be paranoid (where they recieve their magic in the beginning, and in season 2, and a brief moment with Princess Emeraude). There is some blood, but it's not really any more than is in DBZ. There's also Caldina's early appearences where she jiggles her boobs around some, but that wouldn't be a big deal, I don't think.
The second season (from my impression so far) would probably do even better, as it seems to be a bit more action/mecha-oriented.
They'd cut the OP of course, but I would expect that they'd leave the ED in tact (a la Outlaw Star).
As far as the couple people who die, I don't expect that would be a huge problem, although someone may have some objections to the ending, but I can't think of a way that they'd really be able to edit that anyway.

yeah it probably would do well on tv. i don't think they'd cut much of anything out besides the opening. but it doesn't really matter to me if they show it i already have this one.

you guys probably know this already, but MKR was considered and CN was close to obtaining it (fox was also after it), for a while fox had it (but they had to review it first before they actually buy the license to air it) and after reviewing it (or watching the whole series), Fox said no (thank god) but then CN didnt want it anymore when media blasters went to them. MB should have went to CN in the first place.

What seems to be forgotten is that in Sailor Moon, death was not a common thing, even for monsters-of-the-day. In Rayearth, monsters die, people die---there isn't much of the Sailor Moon-style "reforming" of bad creatures. Rayearth also deals with more mature themes than Sailor Moon and most Toonami series. Granted, so did Gundam Wing and that was phenomenally successful on TV, but I don't think that Johnny and Sally Mainstream in Small Town, USA are quite ready for a girly action series that throws death, despair, and questions of what makes right and wrong at young, impressionable viewers.
Three years. Give it three years max. By then I'm almost positive it could make it onto US television relatively intact.
