I really liked the animation. In fact, it is quite possibly the best animation movie I've ever seen. Has this animation team worked on any other titles??
I was into the story in the beginning but not as much as the end. Someone mentioned something about a manga that explains more. Can someone give me details??
Last thing, why was there a lack of extras on the DVD?? Does the Japanese DVD have extras??

See nausicaa.net (a fan site) for all the stuff done by the makers of Mononoke
Hime.
Studio Ghibli is not really into extras. So there weren't that many on the R1 DVD. the JP R2 is a 3-DVD set, but there's not really a lot more there either. There is a separate 3-DVD release of a "Making Of" documentary in Japanese only.

Yeah, I dunno, the story is strange, but I was in it from beginning to end... the beginning might've been cooler though. :)

Out of all the animated movies I have seen... Princess Mononoke has the best animation. It's so beautiful.
I don't know much about a manga or missing story lines. I understood the movie quite well. Hrmmm... I wonder if there is a manga Mononoke is based off of?
Off topic: But the best animation of it's time was Disney's Sleeping Beauty... Of it's time... Mononoke has it beat now, no question. lol
Well the animation was really expected to be good with the amount of money spent in making the film (around 20 million US dollars).
