Just to help you out with the series. Realize that the main character is the older brother, not Yushiro, and it will be easier to follow the plot. Also dont concentrate on the mecha, this is a political thriller rather than an action movie.

all I can say after watching the first two tapes...

COOL MECHA! COOL MECHA! COOL MECHA!

those TAs are rather cool-looking... both sorts. Interesting control system too. me like. me like...

unfortunately there really aint that much mecha portrayed. its around here and there, throughout most of the series its on everyone and what theor plans are and finding out truths about past lives and all :D

Confusing? No way!
Well, the political intrigue was complex at times but the first eight episodes (which I have seen) are hardly a labyrinth of confusion (and I speak as someone whose seen the entire series of Lain!). You may pick up the plot on the second viewing unlike a lot of other plot-heavy anime.
Indeed, the animation is not only astounding but stunningly well thought out. Well thought out to a degree of startling realism. The politics are intriguing and realistic and I am interested on seieng how this series turns out. I am also keen to see if something develops between Mibaru and Yushiro....

Gasaraki may not be life-changing (like Eva) but still an excellent example of what anime has to offer....

Hmmm. I've only seen up to four episodes, which is how many episodes are on the first volume of Gasaraki. Most things aren't clear for me yet, so I have heard.

Plot is a sketchy but okay, and the mecha battle scenes are great....I need more Gasaraki now. :D

I've just seen the first two episodes, and it looks pretty damn good so far. Compelling plot. I think I'll go watch the next two episodes now.

I've got the 1st tape, and I thought it was confusing. I put the tape away after watching it one time, now it sits in a corner collecting dust along with the Guy: Double Target my friend gave me. Not to say Gasaraki is bad, I'm just not very interested in it.
