Sailor Moon / Queen Beryl

In Sailor Moon series 1. When Sailor Moon Killed Queen Beryl how did the other scouts help beat her??? I thought that they got killed buy the Doom and Gloom Girls.
And if they died how did they come back to life???

uh don't quote me on this but i think they weren't actually killed...they were brought down spiritually hence the name doom and gloom...um...right :)

I think Sailor Moon had to defeat the queen by herself. the scouts wren't really killed, just captured, so when Qeen Barrel (sp?) was defeated, they escaped because the queen lost her power

I think that they were never killed, but were traped, and well their hearts and spirts were so strong that even Queen Barrel couldn't keep them down!

That's true in the English (DIC)version. In the orginal version however, They are definitly kapute. Their ghosts (spirits?) are however able to encourage Sailor Moon as she faces Beryl. But at the end of the episode the girls are very much alive, but their Senshi persona's have gone back to being dormant. An important concept here is that these persona's or alter-ego's is only a part of these characters - sort of an overlay. Notice how their behaviour changes slightly, but not totaly, when they are senshi(scouts) For example: Sailor Moon often takes much more initiative or leadership role than Usagi/Serena ever does in thier "normal" lives.

Wolfman has pretty much got it right here. At the end of the episode, Sailormoon dies after using the crystal, but before she goes she makes the wish that she could just be a normal teenage girl again. The power of the crystal is still so strong that the wish comes true, and Serena and the rest are reincarnated as "normal" teenage girls.

DIC sanitised this original version because on American TV, cartoon characters don't actually die (ie. how many times have we seen Wile. E. Coyote blown up?), they just, you know, survive in the tradition of cartoon characters. So they made it that the scouts were just "captured", and cut out the actual death scenes with the scouts. I'm pretty sure I have stills of the four death scenes if anyone wants to see them. *sniff*. I can't believe how badly DIC screwed these two episodes (Day of Destiny was originally two episodes long, that's how much material they cut out!!!) up. It's such a shame...

If you meant me, I do have to cop to a touch of paraprhasing there as I have only read the scripts/fan summeries and such for those particular episodes. Now that you mention it I do remember reading about the wish, I still think my persona'/alter ego statement is valid. I feel that here are definate differances between the "normal" and "senshi" characters. They sre they same, and then again not. You know what I mean?

Yes they were officially killed off, but the stupid cut version from DiC screwed everything up and they took over 20min because all that deadly crap and give it a happy ending.

that's right folks, the inner senshi were K.O'd and brought back to life. Well, let's think. Is Sailor Moon really Usagi? Is she Princess Serenity? Or Queen Serenity? I guess she's all of them, but have you noticed how many times thouse girls have gotten reincarnated? They are, like, invincible... sort of. So they never really died... sort of. Their spirits were reborn once again into Ami, Makoto, Minako, etc's bodies, and, if you remember, they did not remember they were senshi shortly after. ^_^ silly girls!

yes, cause the whole thing never happened for them. but dont think that usagi is queen serenety or a part of her, cause usagi is the reincarnation of princess serenety. her mother died, when she used the cristal against beryl.
