Ok, um, in the original Bubblegum crisis, what is up with Celia's brother always trying to catch her in her panties? I'd rather look at NeNe of Priss, not my own damned sister! arrgghh

also, why is it called Bubblegum Crisis? There's no mention of bubblegum, have I missed something? I've only seen about 6 tapes and all of them are from the original series, so my knowledge has more holes in it than swiss cheese

Hehe, Mackey(sp?) is a little strange isn't he? Seems like boarderline incest if you ask me.

I don't know why its called Bubblegum Crisis. I can guess at the crisis part. I dunno, why is Bubblegum Crash called that (I haven't seen that part yet)?

in the original he was a 100% perv. I mean he liked to look at his freaking SISTER! :D

In 2040 however, he's the EXACT opposite, and that's all that I'll say because they are spoilers. Umm ... i haven't seen all of 2040 (only 12 episodes so far) but it may look like mackie and nene ... :D

As for the name, I got this from the "Ask John" thing from AnimeNation.

"Kenichi Sonoda and Toshimichi Suzuki intended the series to be one in which the action grew increasingly larger and more dramatic, like a bubblegum bubble, until it reached an explosive climax. That climax occurred in OAV three, which is sub-titled, Blow Up. That episode is the one in which the Knight Sabers go on the offensive and take the battle to Genom, and Sylia kills Brian J. Mason. BGC was an experimental series when it began. Just by watching the original OAVs, one can tell that the main story wrapped up in the first 3 OAVs. Episode 4 is obviously a stand-alone story that does not relate to the main story-line, and episodes 5 on are, stylistically, a new series."

There!

ah ok, I saw the one where she kills mason...

I thought it kinda sucked. get this:
Organisation makes kickass super duper Boomer.
The saber knights, after fighting some little boomers, take on the big boomer.
Big boomer uses space cannon to wreck havoc, yet knight sabers kick his ass. then celia and mason fight, mason gets ass kicked.

It all happens to quickly and easily that it's boring. (I need to see 2040 I know)
no good people gets so much as a scratch, what kinda super boomer with space cannon help can't scratch one? hereos walking away unscathed sucks ass.

Out of the two BGC and BGC 2040, I would have to say that BGC 2040 is by far the best of the two. I have seen the first 14 episodes of the BGC 2040 series. I have liked what I have seen so far. I can't wait to get tape 7. :D

2040 is a better series but remember that the original is over 15 years old, as for bubblegum I have no idea a friend thought that it was because in 2040 when a boomer went mad a substance like bubblegum would flow through it but I told him that there was a series before that and there was really no mad boomers in it
