Macross Soundtracks

I've only seen snippets of Macross (*gasp*) so far, but I've enjoyed Yoko Kanno's other projects. I dunno, however, if she worked on just one of the series (I thought she just did the Macross Plus soundtrack, but I'm probably wrong or delusional, or both ) or multiple ones.

Anyway, I've seen several soundtracks out there for all the various Macross titles, and I was curious as to how you would rank them (best to worst). Which ones are worth the money?

I think it comes down to what music you like as all the Macross shows have very different music to each other.

Well from what I've heard....there's

-Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (original) (more early 80's)
-Macross 2 (late 80's/early 90's vibrant style music and BGM)
-Macross 7 -haven't heard much of this but it's 90's Japanese rock
-Macross Plus - a whole mix of stuff that can't really be put under one thing.

Well that's the best way I can describe them so it may be not what everyone thinks.

#1 Macross Plus #2 Macross - original series #3 Macross DYRL movie mainly for the song Ai Oboete Imasuka which I really like. I'll put Flashback 2012 with Dyrl since it's not really long enough to be by itself #4 Tie between Macross 2 and Macross 7 - At first I didn't really like 7's music too much, but it grew on me and it takes about 15 or so episodes to hear Mylene sing instead of Basara. Mylene's songs are really good, while some of Basara's can get on your nerves. Macross 2 has some good songs and some really bad ones as well

Of all the Macross music I've heard..., I think the music from Macross Plus is the best..., I don't really like the music to DYRL.., & the only track I like from Macross II is the opening theme...,

yessum i do belive in my humble opinion that macross plus is the best! things from song from fiona apple, to voices, they are all great to me. but then again so are the rest of the series music.
