Irrashaimase!!!

welcome to AB ^_^

iie

Kinimoto Touya is not gay...nor Yukito

if you ask why...try asking Ohkawa Nanase-sensei since she created CCS ^_^

I don't know about Touya...I'm thinking he's bisexual...then again, it's CLAMP, and no CLAMP character has a defined sexual orientation, it seems @_@

As for "Tory", he's completely heterosexual :p

Magicfangirl
05-03-02, 11:14 PM
well it's argued that he is.

I've got 2 opinions!

1: In the anime I don't think he's gay. Although he could be.

2: In the manga... i think he's gay.

My opinons. The best way would be to ask the creator of CCS but of course you may or may not like the outcome.

But Tori in the dub version... is a hetero.

DAMNED DUB PPL!!! THE RUIN EVERYTHING! THEY RUINED SAILOR MOON! NOW THEY RUIN THE DUB OF CARDCAPTORS! DAMN THEM!

Touya really didn't seem to want to have a lot to do with any of the girls in his class in the anime. In fact I think he come across as rather anti-social. Kinda like Fuma :D

But to answer the question, yes there is definitely a relationship of a YAOI nature between Touya and Yukito with a lot UST (Unresolved Sexual Tension) lying around at the end of the series. Whether this means either of them are guy or not is a debateable issue CLAMP has really left up to the viewer to decide.

Magicfangirl

Well Suzaku-san your opinion was good to.

It's a hard call ya know. CLAMP is kinda odd that way, they keep you guessing all the time.

*re-reads her X/1999 duet*

I'm STILL trying to figure out if Fuma is trying to kiss Kamuei when he's possessed! CLAMP is cool but they are very tricky!

well to apppeal to little girls tehy make the teenage boys non-threatening and sensitive..so of cousre the older viewers are gonna recognize thsi behaviour as homosexual behaviour and presume taht he's gay. If cardcaptors sakura was intended for m15-18 year olds torries character would probarbly act much more htrosexual.

Not necessarily. In fact if it was aimed at an older female audience I'd argue that there would probably be more homosexuality between Touya and Yukito. This is CLAMP we're talking about and Yaoi runs rampant within their works. Remeber, Yaoi isn't written for men. Not even gay men. It's purely a girl thing.

Not to say you have to be a girl, or even gay to enjoy yaoi or any of CLAMP's works :D

It's late so I hope at least some of that made sense......

thing is though, tori "sometimes" speaks to julian (sorry, don't know their japanese names or whatever). in a weird way. and what's Yaoi? i seem to see the words Yaoi, lemon, and hentai everywhere, especially on some fanficton sites.

assyria

::jumps up and down:: Oh I love answering the yaoi question :o

Yaoi is an acronym for Yama nashi, ochi nashi, which raoughly translates as "no climax, no point, no meaning and has been adopted to describe guy x guy sexual relationships in anime and manga and doujinshi [fan manga]. In fact Yaoi was born in the doujinshi market and it's still the most common place to find it.

If you find this term used in fanfiction then chance are that fic is R rated and full of guys "rolling around in the hay' so to speak.

if you want to know more go to Aestheticism (http://www.aestheticism.com/)

Thus ends today's lesson :D

Magicfangirl

If Yaoi translates into ' No climax, No point, No meaning" then what does Yuri translate into?

sukie80
16-03-02, 11:54 PM
Well as far I'm concern Toya is gay and loves Yukito and Yukito loves Toya.
But that will never air in America as far as the network is concern. That will really mess up kids.

Tomoya is also gay too(I think.)

The cute ones are always gay:rolleyes:

Ummm.... I have no idea :heh: Gomen my knowledge of homosexuality within manga and anime is mostly in the yaoi field. I'll check some of my books and get back to you on that one.

UPDATE: what does YURI stand for?

Yuri literally translates as "lily" but perhaps because it doesn't have the history or cult following of Yaoi, Yuri isn't an acronym for anything. A few people seem to suggest the name came about because a lot of the characters in girl x girl stories were named Yuri, but that could just be an urban myth of Japan.

Thus ends lesson no. 2

Oh boy this is off topic……

About Yuri,

What I heard is that the term came from Dirty Pair. Their was a ton of stories that had the two leading females Kei and Yuri "rolling in the hay". They were called "Kei x Yuri" stories. Eventually, other series started to have more girls "have fun together" by fanfic writers and eventually the "Kei x Yuri" term was shortened to just "Yuri".

On Topic.

Touya's sexual orientation is clearly debatable. One might say he consider Yukito "in that manner". While others will disagree. Its purely speculation at times and that is as far as we can get in some manners.

suzaku

here's a simple way to describe Yuri in the anime field...

Yuri = girl + girl :kawaii:

Anyway... I say Touya is a homosexual. He seems to close to Yukito then any straight guy would be.

:fftopic:
Now, would you say that Tomoyo's gay? She does says in the sereis that she loves Sakura. But you could debate in which way she meant it.

I think there is just as much evidence showing Tomoyo-chan 'yuri' nature as there is to Yukito or Touya-kun's 'yaoi' nature.

Tomoyo love of sakura is much the same as Sonomi [Tomoyo's mother] love of Nadeshiko [Sakura's mother]. The only real difference being that while Sonomi is [or maybe was] jealous of the fact Nadeshiko got married, Tomoyo-chan has said that what would make her happiest in the world would be to see the one she loves. Even if who she loves dosen't feel the same way about her. Isn't that just so kawaii! :kawaii:

Anyhow there is a lot of hitting to the 'who' being Sakura.

Manga quote GN 2, page 66 to 67

Tomoyo: "I love you a lot too, Sakura."
Sakura: "Me too."
Tomoyo: "You don't know just how much.....I love you, Sakura"
Sakura: "D'you say somthing?
Tomoyo: "I'll tell you when you're a little older."

Magicfangirl

Ahhh, Tomoyo and Sakura... They make a kawaii couple :)

Almost as kawaii as Yuki and Toya! ;) ( okay okay, they're both of equal kawaiiness)

Eli Moon = Eriol Hiiragizawa - reincarnation of Clow Reed

Kodachi

Eli... Moon? Julian Star?! *throws up*

Anyway, to me this is all very obvious:

Touya = Loves Yukito

Yukito = Male

Therefore, Touya = Loves Males

That's how it was in the manga, anyway ^_^

Actually, that Yukito = Male thing is debateable, he's more of a sexless being O_o In any case, Touya definitely doesn't descriminate based on sex :D

To tell the truth I think the entire cast (except poor, naive Sakura) is bisexual. It's like sex isn't even an issue, nobody seems to care. Same for pedophillia. Gyaachs. And a teacher, no less *shudder*

NANI! In what issue is that proven?

*looks threw her small collection of CardCaptor Sakura manga's*

Kodachi
11-04-02, 12:10 PM
Wait, it really wasn't proven, I was thinking about that scene where Yukito is laying sick in bed and Touya turns around to walk away and then Yuki reaches out his hand and tells him "don't go" or something like that. It's really obvious that Yuki loves Touya. Only I got confused and thought that scene was the other way around (touya being sick and reaching for yuki) :(

Still! It's very strongly implied that he loves him. Err. I think.

Feh, it's CLAMP. Such seems to be the trend with them...I think it's supposed to be more a message of something like, "love transcends the boundaries of gender and age". Or something.

There are several small things in the manga that seem to suggest love between Touya and Yukito---it's not as screamingly, glaringly clear as the homosexuality in other CLAMP works, but it's present ^^ The anime is more subtle.

I'd like to see them try and send a message like "homosexuality is sinful, let us spank ourselves for our dirty thoughts". Just for the same of variety.

It's in the Bible. " Man shall not lie down with Man as he does a women."

That's one of the reasons people don't like yaoi and yuri stuff.

Big deal, I follow what the Bible says and I still read yaoi and yuri stuff!

Shouldn't judge just because they're diffrent ya know.
