has anyone seen a Real Player video with clips of Tenchi muyo! in it? It's set to the music of Don't Speak and it's about Ryoko's love for Tenchi. If anyone knows where I can get a hold of that, I'd be grateful. Ever since web master of the page it was on when i found it took it off, i've been looking but i can't seem to find it anywhere. Also theres a music video of Washu if anyone has seen it. Set to the music of Wierd Science.

Those are called Anime Music Videos, and we can't tell you where to get them as it's against forum rules :)

Because technically, they are not legal.

Ive got that AMV and thats a great one but not as good as ChickMagnet though :)

Thats questionable...because, what if they are freebies or shareware...It's hard to tell when it comes to stuff like this.

actually it is fairly easy. These peopel dont own the rights to use the animation, they dont own the rights to use the music.

And most of all, eva2000 has no to links to them on his forum.

But it IS legal. Cartoon network once had it on its web site. So why do you say it's all illegal?:confused:

If they have it on their site then why ask for it here?

secondly, yes they own the rights to broadcast the show a number of times and can use bits for promotional purposes.

these otehr people making AMV's own nothing but the creative inspiration... thus its illegal

Technically this is correct. But eventually some of the smarter copyright owners will allow limited use of materials.

For example, for a while Paramount was too picky on letting Trekkers construct fan web sites. This pissed off the fan base and they had let up a bit.

More recently, Sony has been doing the same against people who post software updates for their robotic dogs. (That's really stupid of them -- This actually helps sell more of their robotic dogs!)

AB is not the place for this sort of thing to be sorted out. There will be lots of lawyers involved before the Copyright holders figure out the proper balance between creative fan use and blatant rip-off of material. Lawyers cost too much money for AB.
