I plan to get it next week. Has anyone seen it and if so, how is it? What is the main focus? Drama, action, mecha...?

It's a mystering, action, thriller kind of anime. I haven't seen it but from the description of animenation.com it sounds interesting.

Mostly action and drama. The first half is fairly light-hearted; it gets much more serious, plot intensive, and emotionally impactful in the second half. Definantly better than the price tag might lead you to believe.

It depends how high your standards are... Generator Gawl is entertaining, but not that amazing. I consider it a B-list anime, among the ranks of Bubblegum Crisis, Gasaraki, Now and then Here and There... ect.
Basically, it didnt stick in my head very long after i saw it, which all my A-list anime did (thats probably why i havent ever posted in this forum).

Yeah, but even "B-list" is better than I would have at first expected from it. And not all anime can be mind-shatteringly good. Well, I suppose that would be really cool if they were, but... plus, LOOK AT THE PRICE!!!

Generator Gawl was okay i got the Region 1 Perfect collection box set a looong time back from Animecornerstore.com, BGC2040 was much better than Gawl, but i'd say Gasaraki only just nudges out Gawl in my line of favs
