View Full Version : Opening song who is the red caped man?
Hi i was wondering if anybody who has seen this so so anime can tell me who the person in the red caped is in the begininning shot of the tv series opening theme standing on the tip of the tree at the opening theme song. At first i thought it was parn..but parns cape is green, then i thought it would be spark..but it cannot be because in the silhoutte he has short hair...then you see the red cape again on the deedlit opening shot when she is standing against the wind. WHat does this red cape stand for? Does anybody have any insight on this, much appreciated, and also just to make sure at the very beginning you see two swishes, the second face is ashram but who is the first? is that parns? I know these questions are inconsequential but i just wanted to know also does anybody know if any new ROFL will be coming out? preferably if all the animation is done like the tv series intro.

1.) Don't recall who that is, ask Robotech Master, I believe this was asked b4.
2.) I assume you mean is more ROLW being made, and probably not. The anime itself is considered "old school" and isn't really popular enough to generate another OAV. Besides, the storyline is practically done, unless they want to do a prequel or something. <Shudder> They have however released a manga called Deedlit's Tales that's sorta like a continuation.
It is Parn in the opening 'swish' and it is Parn in the red cape. He simply is just wearing a red cape.
The only other ROLW series, other than the OAV and TV series, are Welcome to Lodoss Island! (an TV series, Chibi style) and The Legend of Crystania (sp.?).

Yes but as for the effect those two will have.... let's just say despite my love of Lodoss I wanted to gorge my eyes out ;)

hmmmm...where to begin:
Well, Nokari answered your first two questions correctly. That is Parn in both cases, simply wearing a Red cape in the intro.
In regards to its chances of having anothers series made, slim but actually possible.
In case you want to know, there are still novels coming out in Japan. Under the title "Shin Lodoss." They can be seen on the Japanese Amazon.com website. I am unaware of their general popularity. All I know of them is that it takes place many years after the end of the 7th main novel during a time where King Kashue retires and gives the throne to Spark.
If they ever decide to make an Anime of that, then maybe, but I don't know.
RE: unless they want to do a prequel or something
Actually, that would be their best bet for a popular new Lodoss series. I had always thought that the coolest new Lodoss Series they could ever make would be one that went back thousands of years and detailed the creation of the world and the war of the gods. It would have its roots set in the history of Lodoss, yet the story would have never been told in such great detail, so it would be new even to hardcore Lodoss Fans.

Oh I was wondering who that was in the intro....
If they ever do more anime I'd like to see the Lady of Phalis (Spelling?)

RE: Lady of Phalis (Spelling?)
Phalis is correct, though pronounced in English it is often written as Falis, the Supreme God of Light. In Japanese it is spelled Pharis.
An anime of that would be cool. I haven't read it yet, but doesn't a part of it detail the original heroes killing the Demon King. That would certainly be interesting.
I like the War of the Gods thing better though.

Supreme God of light. hmmm I didn't know that. Thank you :D
So far I've only had the chance to flick through the Phalis manga but I should have it by next week...hopefully. My impression was that it seemed to tell the six hero's story. I'll let you when I read it. I do have a very nice pic of the six of though; Beld, Farn, Neisse(Spell?) Wort, the dwarf who's name I don't know and Karla.
I really like Bled in fact I just really like anyone from Mamo except Vagnado, but then he's not really from Mamo is he. That's probably why I like to see Phalis as an anime.
Clash of the gods would be cool though. I love too see another chapter based on Ashram's journey to Crystania. That could be interesting, but then he have to made out to be good guy and that would put me off :p

I'd think the original demon king conflict would be great. I'd love to see that duel at the end with Beld and the Demon King...
I mean it's a good idea, it's just that prequels in general flop. ^^
Oh and of course there's a chance for another OAV or such. I'm just saying the chance of it happening isn't too likely.

Welcome to Lodoss island is cute :D I like it :D However I agree with you, Legend of Crystania made me want to gouge out my eyes. It's a shame that they ruined a perfectly good story with extremely crappy artwork.
