Patlabor series settings

I've been wondering recently about the order that the various Patlabor series titles are set in. I assume that the Patlabor 1 movie is where the series starts, but we all know what happens when you assume.:rolleyes:
After the 1st movie I'm not sure of the order of events that take place in the various Patlabor series. I think I heard somewhere that the Patlabor 2 movie concludes the entire series, but I'm not sure. Help on this will be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks!

In order of the movies, Patlabor 1 is before Patlabor 2, yes...however both come after the TV series which introduces you to the characters. I think it's like 30 + eps long, though I'm not sure.

It has just started coming out on DVD in the US. It's not nearly as deep as the movies, but all in all the first DVD was pretty good.
