There was a real pocket watch made and sold as Noir merchandise...but alas I can no longer find it anywhere.
It was of the same design as that Kirika owns, featuring the two maidens embossed on its top.

I have given up on buying it (it sold out too quickly for me to consider it), but would love to find some good pictures of it.

Does anyone know of some? Or perhaps owns it and can take pictures?
I would be much obliged.

You're obsessed!!! :D

Though it'd be nice to own... did it play the tune as well?

I continue to pray to the anime gods, and will continue to do so until I get one. It seems the company stopped making them, but maybe someone will get tired of theirs or something. Most anime fans I know are rather fickle, and tire of their old stuff rather quickly. We can only hope. . .

Maybe it is time for a trip to Japan.

Thank you, very good picture.

The company has stopped making them, you say? I had simply assumed stores were out of stock. This is distressing, but I can always hope.

I know some pocketwatches will play a tune when opened....I would assume this one does not as it would push the price up a great deal. But if it did I would truly pay stupid amounts of money for it.

Excession, I couldn't agree with you more- on all counts. My friend and I were having a discussion on the cost to insert a music box mechanism into the watch the other day. I am totally willing to pay 80,000 yen without, but you are right, id double it for the music. However, i believe it might actaully triple the price to do so.

that is a cool watch... I'd also almost consider paying lots of money for it.

but what I really want is a 1:1 scale Bangata model.. heh... then I'd need a bigger garage to put it in, but it'd be COOL.

The watch does not play music, it is just a watch.

A separate Noir music box was made, but was pretty ugly, a brown coffin-shaped box with the sillhouette of the two girls on the front.

Most anime merchandise has limited print runs only and production is often based on the number of preorders the company receives for the item. A catalogue is issued several months in advance so shops can order, unfortunately the catalogues often don't come with any pictures at all so buying a carton of 20 of the same item on the basis of a 4 word text description can be a risky business :P

It is always a great help to hear from one in the know, in this case Tamachan.

Ah, a pity the watch does not play the tune, and likewise a pity the music box was less than pretty. I am now forced to wonder what the cost of having the item made would be, though I am sure it would be vastly outside of my budget.

Still, with a new series in the works there is always the possibility that such items will be produced in future, assuming that the pocket watch (albeit seemingly abandoned in the end) features as heavily as it did in the first.
Perhaps, dare I dream, one will be created which plays the tune when opened.

In the mean time I can buy Noir posters or wallscrolls or plushies (if they exist). :) *starts looking around Tamarket*
