On balance I like Poom-Poom best.... he's just so tragic. And the Pied-Piper/Balloons metaphor is truly inspired!

My favorites in order:
1.) Boogiepop - I love the way they kept the mystique around her character and when she smiled in Requiem I thought that was an interesting twist.
2.) Manaka (butterfly girl) - This was somehow the biggest character twist for me. I thought she was so cute at the start of the show and in one of the episodes I remember thinking "Noooo!!!! Don't hurt the little butterfly girl!!" Then she started getting creepier and creepier till the end of the series when she was thoroughly disturbing. I like how they cleared up her past in episode 11 though.
3.) Panuru - She was an interesting character. I'm not quite sure why...she was very tragic and somehow surreal.
