well, my personal favorties are "salva nos" (the battle theme, good gothic choir stuff, and good music too) and the opening theme...

I love them all. I even have all 3 cds in my car. If I really have to choose, though, I would say Canta per Me. And my reason is the perceived duality of the music. It just seems to be both fast and slow, happy and sad, at the same time. Not to mention, just beautiful in general, as well as evoking key scenes from the anime in my mind.
On that note, I must admit that for a while I hated the end theme because it signified the ending of the episode.
:D

I really like Salva Nos and play it (on the OST) in my car.
Canta Per Me is another I like, as it was what first really drew me into the series. The scene where it begins to play and we see Kirika for the first time I thought "Wow, the music is very nicely done, this looks to be a quality production".
Finally I love Indio (OST 2), simply because it sounds beautiful. I searched for it on OST 1, and was greatly dissapointed to find it was not there. Ever since I heard it play during the raining aftermath of that nights events I wanted it, so finding it on OST 2 was great.
Other than that I play Le Grand Retour from OST 2 a lot, because it can be left on loop and takes a while to tire of (probably due to its length).
But really, all the music was good, apart from a few odd songs. Every character theme and piece from the anime was good, and even those which I do not enjoy have merit, simply because they are well composed (for the most part).

Exactly.
"Killing" is also very good, especially when you're in a bad mood.

yep, the intro is cool, if the lyrics are a little bit on the weird side, but they fit the anime.

I have to say this. The theme with the accordian [sp?] is the lamest music I have ever heard in my short experience in anime. Nobody could possibly stereotype the French like they have done so

Is it me, or is Le Grande Retour sound eerily like Braveheart ? :heh:

Butters:
I must admit that I am not fond of the accordion composition, but surely you have to credit the other music with being well done?
I thought so, at least.
As for stereotyping the French...It really is not the worst case I have seen.
Have you seen what programs from the US are capable of doing to we Australians? Do I really seem like the type to saunter (or possibly climb off my kangaroo?) up in singlet and drawl "G'day cobber." with a beer clenched in my fist?
Let us not fail to complete the scene by including wooden power-poles and a few crocodiles.
I would certainly hope not. I think it is just something you have to ignore in order to get on with enjoying the program/anime.
Ronin:
I have no idea, but will be making a trip to the local video store to hire Braveheart in order to verify the originality of the soundtrack from Noir. :)

Prepare for one of the most moving tale of patriotism, love and sacrifice ever made. Not to mention the greatest Non-Hong Kong/Anime swordsmanship ever filmed. :D

I think the majority of the music on OST1 is fantastic, but my favourites:
Kirei na Kanjou
Kopperia no Hitsuki
Canta Per Me
Solitude by the Window
Lullaby
Romance
Haven't heard the other two yet.

The Track "Chloe" is the definition of "creepy."
Lets see.....
Kopperia no Hitsuki
Canta Per Me
Solitude by the Window
Lullaby
Salva Nos
Chloe
Melody
Whispering Hills
and the Melody/Salva Nos mix on OST3 is nice as well... as are most of the other songs on OST2 & 3... but #1 really stands out :)
<--Being American: Yeah, so all you Aussies and your Croc-Hunters with giant Fosters b-e-e-r. :joke:
"I see you've played knifey spoony before."
Salva nos
Canta per me
Melodie
Canta per me II
Aka to Kuro
Copellia no Hitsugi
Romance
... just about everything else
About the accordian music: There is French music like that. I like it. It's not all the music but there is some like it, no problem.
