Kitsune VS Tanuki

I have a question. Tanuki and Kitsune are both shapeshifters in Japanese myth. But is the Tanuki more powerful in that they can actually turn into something and have that objects strengths while the fox only can use an illusion of an object? So is the tanuki better or are they also only using weak illusion like the kitsune?

Well then. Does anyone have any thoughts on Shippo or the tanuki that is Miroku's friend. Do you like them or do they suck?

Sorry it seems none of us are help with your first question.

I like them both. The tanuki (don't remember his name at the moment) is very loyal to Miroku, and wouldn't desert him even in the face of death. Shippo is very brave and tries to help as much as he can, even if his attacks are mainly illusion and if he is just a child. ^_^
