Well, I haven't seen any threads among the thousands here about Nausicaa in particular, so I thought I'd start one...

What does everyone think who read the manga? I thought it was incredible, but I only finished it today so I need more time to meditate on it, just like with every other Miyazaki work...If I had to describe it in one word, it would probably be "masterpiece".

Sadly, this one's not in my collection yet, is it relaly good? I hear it's very detailed & beautiful. Would you recomend it a lot?

I've got the second nausicaa manga, where it picks up from the movie(kind of). The drawings are pretty simply but they still look great. It would be my second favourite manga after the Battle Angel Alita series which is so detailed.

I haven't been able to see the Nausica manga, but I saw (well, tried to anyway) the movie and I didn't like it. I really did try to see it, I started it 5 times, but I always fell asleep or something, and it wasn't that I was tired or anything. :(

Oh wow, it is really fantastic...I laughed out loud, and I cried a little too...It really is so much different from any manga I've ever seen. It is well worth the seventy dollars I paid from amazon.com for all 4 perfect collections. The ending is disturbing, the ideals very reminescent (to me, anyway) of the end of Neon Genesis Evangelion. The characters are glowing, the story is epic, and I sound like some shameless p.r. man. I have the first two volumes of Alita, which is good, but Nausicaa, in my opinion, is better. Nausicaa manga is very different from the movie, so if you didn't like the movie I suggest you try it.

Nausicaa is one of my favourite manga. Calling it a graphic novel does not do it justice, as it is far superior to some of the novels I've read. It is an epic masterpiece, with wonderful artwork, a thought provoking storyline, and a selfless heroine. A "must read" for any manga fan. :)

And Battle Angel Alita rocks!! The anime was alright (it was too short), but the manga is brilliant..., very sad in places, especially the final volume of the manga..., Alita is cool, but Nausicaa is better! :B:

And I think this thread is in the wrong forum..., can mod move it please? To where though..., Other Anime, maybe?
