View Full Version : Chloe's Curious Relationship to...

Vegita, of DBZ fame? My friend, who actually watches, tells me that since Toriyama disliked the character, he never really paid any attention to how he drew him, thus creating a character that drastically changed heights.

Perhaps I have watched Noir too much lately (is that possible) or perhaps it was merely watching it all in one sitting, but I'm curious to ask if anyone has noticed continuity errors with Chloe's height?

I find that her height changes from time to time, and appears particularly noticable in the Shao Li episodes, and in episode 25.

How tall is she? I know she is taller than Meirelle, and of course, Kirika, and she's shorter than Artena, but her height still seems to change. It's a silly thing to wonder about, and it doesn't bother me, really, but am I the only one to notice it?

Is our Chloe another Vegita?

Hi there!

I am not sure it this helps or not, but it may give people a general (rough) idea of character height.

That's not quite what I meant, but it's useful anyway. Thanks. ^^

I must apologize; I failed to properly read your post (I dislike it when others do that, so it is doubly bad when I do). I am trying to use the forums between teaching a class of grade five students to code HTML.
Doing part time teaching work is...interesting, considering I have never been to teachers college.

But getting back to the topic at hand, I have not noticed her height change, even having watched Noir a few times. This is most probably not because it remains static, but rather that I become involved in the anime to the point where I am beyond noticing.

When I get off today I shall re-watch some sections while specifically looking out for what you described. I don't suppose you could suggest any obvious cases (so I may more easily locate discrepancies)?

Well, the most noticable ones for me, are her height in episode 25, when she and Kirka are talking to Artena, before going to bathe in the out door pool. Then, when they're in the pool ... Chloe seems much short in comparison to Kirka. (Maybe Noir-Kirika has better posture?)

Also, in the Shao Li episodes, Chloe again seems abnormally tall, although the scene where she saves Kirika after the grenade might be perspective ... still, Kirika's not that short when she's kneeling, is she?

Hmm. Oh well. ^^ This is just a topic for fun. Even if she does have height problems, I wouldn't like Noir any less. I just wanted to offer up a new topic, that wasn't talked about before. :B Since most topics were covered quite well in my opinion!

Hmm, you are right, I think. There are quite a few shots during the scene where they (Kirika and Chloe) seem to be the same height, or near to it, rather that Chloe being taller.

The greatest difference in height during that scene was seen here:

Even there, Chloe does not seem so much taller than Kirika as the picture I posted above would make her out to be.
Either it was simply an mild oversight (does not affect the anime for me in any way) or it was symbolic of Kirika having changed since her return to Artena.

Maybe Kirika-chan was standing on a rock under the water

If Chloe is any taller in that scene, her cute little behind would be above water. And since we all know that staring at Chloe's ass may very well get you a knife in the back, it's better that it remains underwater.

I hadn't noticed, but I think it was just that Noir went through a few animation studios which leaves more room error. In recent anime the most drastic quality discrepancies I've noticed occur in Hellsing, in one episode Integral looks like she's from one of the dramatic moments of Onii-sama E... and at the begining of the next episode she looks like cheap American cartoon... Sometimes Alucard looks young and sometimes he looks old. The main studio should keep all the others in check better.

You are comparing a character in a series as deep and meaningful as Noir to a flat character from DBZ???They have nothing in common!Nothing!

Dammit Darklightz, at least I was being diplomatic about that! :)

I am not comparing Chloe to Vegita's character. I am comparing her to Vegita's strange height syndrome, which has nothing to do with DBZ, story-line, depth or plot. *sigh* I only though it would be a polite, amusing way to introduce the question.

Besides, it is obvious they are not in the same genre of anime, and thus, have no comparisons other than continuity errors. Vegita's, as I've said, is becomes his own artist disliked the character. I do not want to start a flame war, especially being new to the sight, but such a blunt, mean-spirited comment has required my attention.

Again, Vegita's height is the only height continuity error I know of that I could compare my observations on Chloe to. A very nice poster pointed out some problems with an anime called "Hellsing" and there are several continuity errors in the movie "Lord of the Rings." However, I do not know "Hellsing" and "Lord of the Rings" is a useless way to lead into Chloe's height.

I do not apologize for an attempt to be witty, I merely wanted to make light of the situtation. As "Noir" regardless of its continuity errors, is dazzling anyway. I did not want anyone to feel I disliked it. I, too, share a fierce love of the story.

Sorry Luna, please don't mind me :)
I was only kidding about, and did not mean to make you feel bad.
Its an interesting topic, and its neat that you posted it, as I would not have noticed the height difference between scenes.

I know you are not saying Noir is bad, we are just fanboys (girls?) and so tend to be rather more anal than we should. ;)
