Acutally what yo usee at the beginning there was a hate relationship between him and Otaru. Then a few episodes later, he misread one too many fortunes that implies that he should repect his rival rather then to hate him. According to Hanagata, they all point out that he must devote himself to the man who WAS his rival and Otaru think that he shuld lay off.

Though he is one hell of a funny character of the series (despite that his seiyuu is none other then Koyasu Takehito :inlove: ). Gotta have a love/hate relationship with Mitsurugi Hanagata

Hanagata is a very good character in SMJ and the show wouldn't be the same without him.

He can't be replaced. Not by Quatra ( Steath!!!) not anyone. His charm and Japanese VA makes Hanagata cool. Him being gay only elevates the show's comedy factor. I know something funny is going to happen when Hanagata gets on screen:)

He is indespensible and the show wouldn't be as funny without him:)

I have only seen SMJ and SMJ Again, but I'm already convinced Hanagata is the GAYEST character in anime (not including lesbians, that was always a popular theme in Japanese culture :look: ).

Since he's the only openly-gay character portrayed in the series, it makes me wonder exactly what the relationships between the humans and the marionettes really is like :look:

That had to be THE funniest Hanagata moment in ANY Saber Marionette series. What made it all the more funny was the cute snake armpuppet thingies he was covering himself with... That is gay in the truest sense of the word. :)
