Max Sterling vs Isamu Dyson. Both have their trademark fighters, the VF-1J and YF-19 (respectively)
Myria in her Female Power Armor vs Isamu Dyson (Yf-19, of course).
Although Max and Myria do have the disadvantage of inferior tech (maybe not Myria), they were born to fly.

Dude, that's a dead compeititon: hardly fair.
A YF-19 can out-do a VF-1 or Quaeduluun Rau without Isamu: someone like Docker or even that annoying Basara in it. No matter how good they are, the YF-19 is faster, more manoeuvreable and has a far superior weapons platform. The YF-19 has active stealth and a PPBS while both other machines have neither. No matter how good you are, you can't overcome such disadvantages.
It's like telling a world chess champion to play against me with just a king while I retain all the pieces on the board.
A much better idea would have been Miria in a VF-11B/C with FAST packs against a YF-19.
That adds a whole new dimension to your idea. ;)
I dont know..
Max is even a more insanely good pilot that Isamu. Also he has more expiriance flying his craft in combat. If not total air time.

Well, the best pilot in World War 1 was arguably the Red Baron: but pitting a triplane against a green pilot who's in a Spitfire Mk XIV is just ridiculous; irrespective of how superior the Red Baron was in comparison to a newbie in the Spitfire.
Even if Richtofen could anticipate a move, he couldn't manoeuvre his plane to counter it. His guns would be outranged, his plane has far less armour and far to slow to do anything of value.
Such a brash statement, Death, isn't well thought out. In such an old design like a VF-1, Max doesn't stand a chance on sheer logic of physics alone. If Max was in a VF of equal/similar ability, he should eventually win: with a great spectacle for everyone involved. But with the ridiculous set up made by Nephilim, it's hardly worth noting.
A deathmatch should be made with balanced sides: not skewed without a reasonable chance for one side. It'd be worth it if people bring up such matches which are closer.
Something like my previous post is very even considering the stats involved.

I think the technology gap is even wider than most people have compared.
There's like 4 generations of planes and 40 odd years of technology in between. VF1 - VF4 - VF11, VF17 - VF19.
The differences are like a MiG19 or a Sabre against a Su-37 or a F22 ... a 486 verse P4... a WWII Tiger against M1A2
No matter how good the pilot is, his/her skill can not surpass the plane's limit. Simple logic.
It will be more interesting match (IMHO) if you put the oldies in say a VF17 vs the YF19.
