Escaflowne's been cancelled on Fox Kids! I'm a little glad actually. Though the cuts on the show weren't nearly as bad as other shows (coughCardCraptorscough), nothing beats the original.

eek!! i heard that too. and yeah, i agree, fox edited it waaaaaaaaayyy too much.
but since its been cancelled ive gotta start saving up to get the subs.

Fox Kid's has Digimon, Monster Rancher, Flint the Time Detective, Escaflowne (not Vision of Escaflowne--just Escaflowne), and some other anime I haven't seen before. They have "Anime Invasion" or something like that, which is close to Toonami's Rising Sun. Escaflowne came on at 11:00 am (Eastern Time), and they only got to about episode 9 or 10 (they cut the first episode).

Im a bit glad too, but why did it get canceled? They really should cancel "cardcaptors". it makes me sickkkk

Anyways, getting back to the subject, I'm kinda glad that they cancelled it. It was totally butchered (the editing, I mean). Better to have to buy anime then to see it when America has frelled (heh.. I'll let you Farscape fans figure that word out) with it.

I never realy knew that Fox kids had a version os Escaflowne, i figure it was prety toned down for the liitle kids and then it really wouldnt be worth it to watch it because you wouldn get the whole expirience, it would almost like watching Akira without all of the blood and gore.

i was going to watch escaflowne yesterday, but they had a digimon marathon on.:( then today i found out it was canceled, but that fox is going to start showing slayers in february!:kaioken:

Damn it. Yeah Esca was hacked, edited, and dubbed. Until TV execs get their heads outta their asses and until people realize TV isn't the root of all violence (maybe http://smilecwm.tripod.com/scorchio/sgrin.gif , but not violence), the US is gonna be stuck with animes censored like this http://smilecwm.tripod.com/cwm/disgust.gif . The more shows we have on, the more people see them, the more people that realize it's more than a ------- cartoon. It seems most anime has a positive message, it's just some squeamish bastards can't handle the thought of their kids being exposed to something deeper than Barney. From what I got from Anime Nation, the last Escaflowne episode will be shown this Saturday. It's only being taken of Fox Kids; the series will continue on YTV...

Hiii, just stopped by in here.
Really sucks that they're cancelling it, I only got to see maybe 2-3 1/2 episodes. That sucks.
But, I'm wondering. If they're cancelling it, why the hell are they still advertizing it? I just saw a brand-new commercial for it yesterday.
That doesn't make sense.

Nothing in TV-Land makes sense. If they want to confuse their viewers, go ahead. Escaflowne, even in trimmed-down form, is better than the predictable antics of the Pokaclones.

I hate it when cool anime gets cancelled but it's better to watch it in it's golorifed ver when unedited than butcehred. Man if Fox brings out Slayers on Tv, they better not change the opening theme :mad:

I bet if Cartoon Network were to pick it up and put it on Toonami it would be a hot show. Maybe on Midnight Run so it could be unedited...oh well...One can dream though.

they probably cancelled it cuz it wasn't appealing to their toarget audience of 10-13 year old boys. escaflowne wasn't even made for that audience. iactually have a cousin who is a 13 year old boy and he HATES escaflowne. you won't belive how happy he was when they cancelled escaflowne and put one of his face shows...nascar racers...in it's timeslot. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
i think that nascar racers has to be one of the stupidest shows ever. it's about a bunch of people who race cars on these insanely stupid tracks. the cars can fly, turn into boats, etc. they do this EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. i think i'm going crazy cuz that is all my cousin watches when he visits.
i hate nascar racers so much i would gladly watch some pokemon clone instead.
yes, i hate it that much.

YTV is Canadian so if you live anywhere else you are out of luck. Its cable channel 25, at least in my area.

ANIMEfringe has an article/review (http://www.animefringe.com/reviews/3/index.php3) about an uncoming movie called Escaflowne: Girl in Gaea. Different storyline, same main characters...more anime to add the the shopping list!

I know! they replace escaflowne with nascar, now that has been cancelled, and they have this incredibly stupid and gay show called los luchadores on. why don't they put escaflowne back on??? why oh why oh why? it would be so much better than any of those shows. they even cancelled flint the time detective and monster rancher, and sailor moon too! thank god i am canadian and can get YTV! yay! :)
