Advent of Kardis

Just wondering if any one’s had a chance to check this dreamcast ROLW game out. The game play is kinda similar to Diablo, and you play a resurrected Beld (who looks a hell of a lot younger and conveniently has been wiped of his memory), and try to stop the resurrection of Kardas.

The game is set of Marmo for obvious reasons, and all game play takes place there. Bonuses are that you get to met up with various series characters along the way; Parn, Deed, Slyan, Layla, Wort, Narse (the Marmo dragon), Ashram, Pirotess, and then Vagnard who you have to kill to stop him resurrecting Kardis. I liked that bit best because you can get Ashram to help you :D

It’s not a bad game if don’t mind one or two Lodoss facts being ignored or just twisted slightly to fit game play. The opening titles tell you about the war of heroes were both Farn and Beld killed each other. Not quite true. Also I knew the dark elves Leader as Luzeb and they having as some name starting with R that I can’t remember. And the most confusing being that Karla still seems to be in Layla’s body despite that fact that game states it’s after Ghims and that you see Layla with Slayn during the game. :confusing:

Hmmm interesting, I had no idea such a game existed. :D I'm asumming it's in Japanese however and given that the Dreamcast is dead, there's not too much hope for a translation :(

Interesting that Beld would be the hero... hmmm...

The game was already translated and brought to the US, its been out for the Dreamcast for quite some time now, but as the Dreamcast is dead, getting the game would be hard.

I've never played the game, and I've heard mixed feelings about it.

Beld and Fahn killing each other? Gee, that doesn't fit the OVA or Novel Story.

I've seen it on the shelf at a Walmart. I didn't have the money, nor do I have a Dreamcast, but I think I've heard that it also came for the PlayStation 1.

Yes it is pretty easy to find. The hard part is just having a Dreamcast..... Some times you can pick them up cheap but unless you really want one I wouldn’t bother. The only good thing about Dreamcast being that there are a lot of anime games that get released through it.

As to the choice of Bled as hero... well yes that is kind of a strange choice…

Dreamcasts are selling for about 50 bucks now. I have also seen the ROLW game. I have been debating on whether or not to get it though.
