Hello everybody.

I'm not sure if most of you know, but this was a pleasant revalation to me. Anno hasn't turned his back on anime! How do I know this? Take a look at this link:

I'm excited...it may turn out to be crap, but thank god the 'masta' has returned. Again, if this is old news, whack me in the back of the head with a fish :D Cya l8r.

Heh I've already seen that show, it was released before Anno "turned his back on anime". It really is quite good, and I believe that the first DVD is coming out in the US in may.

There's a Kare Kano forum here if you want to discuss the series.

HEHEHE,

yes His and Her Circumstances is fairly old ^^ so it isn't new news.

I have only seen the first episode and didnt think too much of it, but then there have been lots of things that began that way.

I love Kare-Kano, it's got the same terrific character development that Eva has. It was Anno's first anime work after Eva and it shows. Even though he began to distance himself from it about halfway through it still has that awsome Eva feel of real charaters, real emotions, real feelings.

Why do I think that some of the Answers to Evangelion are going to be hidden in this series somewhere?

:hmmm:

It looks more like a kind of What if Asuka and Shinji got into a relationship type deal.

How old is that news posting? Kare Kano's been out for a WHILE now. I've seen the first 13 eps, and it holds a high amount of Eva-ness in it. I feel claustrophobic while watching it, as in that we don't actually see much of a character's everyday life, the setting how it goes. Kare Kano is also quite a lot about self-discovery, overcoming weaknesses, showing a fake face to everyone. Its style is definitely original. The use of traffic lights in one of the episodes is engenious, and I loved the UNO game. The music is also quite well done. Similar to FLCL, Kare Kano holds a hyperbolic style, often exaggerating characters to immense proportions, while keeping serious at the same time.

:( Darn.. that got my hopes up for a second! I thought he was talking about a brand new series that is in production or something. I am looking forward to His & Her C. being released though. I hope I have enough time between now and then top scrape up enough cash to buy the first DVD. :p

Old thread, but I just finished watching Kare Kano last night. What is Anno's probblem??? Why can't he ever finish a story in the same vein he started it in? I haven't watched Nadia yet, and at this point I don't think I want to. I don't understand how someone so good at developing characters can be so bad and telling their story.

Wish this thread can be moved to the "Kare Kano" forum. This has been old news before Anno turned his back on anime...which I find it rather disappointing.

However, the very first DVD from what I heard has been delayed before the official release unti lfurther notice from what I heard.

Well that wasn't Anno's fault as such. The story was based upon the Manga and the Manga hadn't been finished by that point.

Nadia is good, I highly recommend it, it doesn't suffer from the same "problems" with endings.
