It's good.

It's simple and nothing that really hasn't been done before, but it's good.

I have a wallscroll with that exact same picture on it, but the entire thing is done as a grayscale. It really looks nicer that way in my opinion. :D

As a digital artist, I ask, how does grayscale look better unless something is highlighted with color on it?

I apologize. Perhaps I should have been a little more specific. It's basically that same image of Rei only done entirely in a gray format. Her hair is a dark gray, and her plugsuit's colors are all replaced by various shades of gray as well. The only real color in the picture are Rei's eye's which are red as usual. That and the name "Rei Ayanami" which is alsp printed in red on the left. The title "Neon Genesis Evangelion" being printed on the bottom.

So really there is color in it. The focal points sort of slipped my mind. It's been a while since I've looked at that old wallscroll. Probably should pull it out of the closet and hang her back up again since it's so cool.

some stuff looks nice in grayscale, i also mess with image progs and make walls and other stuff, and sometimes the classic black and white is the way to go :D

Yeah that's why I thought the Gray Rei was better looking. She kind of looks better in the shot with gray hair. Kind of reminds me of Kaworu. :D

Yes...sometimes using gray scale is the best way out...

i've got one very good example of Rei in black and white
i had to resize it by half since the size is too big!
i could only fiind this pic in black and white so be it!

Yeah, see, that's what I mean, where one section is colored and everything else is grayscale. I love that kinda stuff ^^

That's from one of the NGE manga's. Pretty much all of them are done in black and white except for a few color images here and there. But Rei definitely does look nice in gray. I ecspecially like how she is in the manga. She's talks more but is still the same personallity wise. But what she says half the time just seems so....Rei-ish. It's kind of nice to see her more talkative without lossing any of her original silient type personnality. :D
