If you are wondering, I am talking about Edward from Cowboy Bebop. Although they are in two totally different environments, I would have to say that.....crap, somewhat too close to call. I'll give it to Ed I guess. Her knowledge of computers and being able to hack into any computer programming gives her a slight edge on Suu. Oh and has anyone noticed that they both act alike somewhat. Everything from their voice to their demenor. It's kind of strange in a way. Long lost sisters perhaps? No, but Suu is a genius in her own right. See has an excellent feel for mechanics and is somewhat knowledgeable about some things like Ed. I'll try to present more arguments later.:)
Suu, coz she's more practical. I mean, no matter what Ed does to a computer Suu's mechs can always smash it. :p

or just hack into suu's machines and crash THEM..
I'd say Ed would be smarter... and LESS ANNOYING (sort of)
But Suu can transform into a babe during a full moon. Ed can't. :p :D

... it seems to me that Suu actually makes more fantastic or improbable items. Devices that are beyond what should be possible given the level of tech in the show.

Didn't you read my Ed spin off thread in CB forum? Ed is Suu!
No but seriously...Ed is a genius, she definantly is the smartest... However, both are two of my favorite characters. I think Suu is a funner to see what she is going to do next. But Ed has better and funnier dialogue.

Ed may have Ein, but spoilers
Suu has a kingdom. :D

Okay, Okay, so Suu has her own kingdom.:( Can't beat that, but Ed can type on a keyboard with her toes, can Suu do that! j/k:lol:
But, I wonder if Suu would fit into the Bebop Universe. What do you think?

I bet Suu can type with her toes too. :D
As for her fitting into CB...
Maybe she would, since she can handle machine guns, mechs, rockets, computers... etc. :D

Ed can change genders at will... Or at least from out point of view...

Heh, well up to about ep13 she WAS male, lol (from my point of view). ^^ Even other anime characters thought she was male (which is weird, because they can usually distinguish the gender of bishounen). Not to mention her father, lol... ^^
Anyway... Ed's better 'cause Ed's dad is cooler. =)

Suu is a basketcase! She ain't pretty. More like a ragdoll to me! j/k I find that I like Ed better than Suu because she is more adorable and fun-loving than Suu. Suu seems to be somewhat of a nuscance(mis-spelled?) than Edward, plus Edward in my opinion probably has more appeal in terms of personally than Suu although they are almost the same...

Ed. Not only is her father the best fighter in the universe (with the amazing ability to kick your arse with a carton of eggs), she can do the wiggly thing with her arms and fingers :D
Seriously though, she is a genious (she is a darn good chess player and almost beat Chessmaster), and can only be out-hacked (in Brain-scratch episode) by her data-dog Ein.

Hmmmm.
Ed is good at hacking things that exist.
Su is good at creating new things that did not exist before.
As an engineer, Su wins hands down.
Ed is also better at talking with dogs !

I think Ed could conjure up some neat stuff with her data dog that she has but is too busy hacking into computers..:D Heck, she could probably whip up something twice as a good if she wanted too.:) Why she could probably destroy Suu's inventions with her Data Dog because he so freakin smart.!
This is sopposed to be vs. thread thingie, but when I think about it, I find it very probable that Ed and Suu would actually make good friends  Both are crazy and hyperactive and theirs skills kind of compliment eachother. When we add Ein to the mix, well prolly have an invincible trio

Ed is smarter. Not just in complex technical skills, but if giant mecha tamas were to attack, I think Ed would do something to stop them or at least run. But Suu, she'd just stand there and say "Cool!"

They seem to be skilled in different areas, so it's tough to say that one is better than the other without some clarifications.
Su is cuter though!

Ah, I think Ed looks adorable in that pink dress she wore in Bebop!:o Yeah, it is hard, but it look at it this way, Ed works in a very unsuitable environment with risk odds and money in stake, yet she seems to deliver everytime while Suu, doesn't have that type of pressure whatsoever. She just builds things so she can play with them....while Ed uses her smarts to roll in the dough! Although they somewhat act the same, I believe Ed possesses a little more maturity than Suu.

some how i dont think that fits.
All Ed never really seems to think anymore than Suu. When you first saw her she took contol of a police flyer ans smashed in into the ground

But, I think the reason Ed did that because she was bored and wanted to test her hacking skills. I mean she was on a somewhat dead planet, so she needed something to perk her up. I mean she is silly, but to an extent to where as she can get the job done in any situation need be.

Don't forget that Ed took out that organism that struck the entire crew in Toys in the Attic. Just rolled over and ate it
Now that's talent (and intestinal fortitude)!

Welll......
If you think about it she was just lucky...
Look at what it did to every one else.
I dont think thats smart

Lucky....nah, I don't think luck had anything to do with it!:) Do think Suu would have ben able handle it better than Ed did? I would have to say probably not considering the environment that Suu lives in. She doesn't really have any pressure on her at all. She basically a happy go lucky girl who really hasn't been put to the test as far as here genius goes. But maybe I am underestimating Suu and her ablilities?:)

I'd say you are...
Maybe someone should write a cross-over fanfic or something like that...?

Actually i think that both would react the same way and eat it. BUt Suu would have gone hunting (Thinking book 12 here) it and mistaken if for dinner...
Or tsomething along those lines.

Hmm....I think Suu would probably mistake it as the blob and she would as it "Excuse me Mr. Blob, would you like to play with me?" I'm bored!  Suu is a weird one I say!:)
