Sakura Wars?

Has anyone seen Sakura Wars, or Sakura Taisen? I absolutely love it, but almost nobody has seen it. Have any of you?

The first OVA is quite simple and gives us a brief introduction of all the cast. Also, it shows a lot more about Sakura and her inborn talent to lead the Hanagumi on stage.

Apart from that, we are brought across a lot of inside thoughts from Ohgami Ichirou...his inner self and deepest desires.

The anime is quite slow, bored at times, but the art is great, coupled if you're a Sakura fan...get it..I'm getting the DVD soon!!!!! Its for my golden collection box!!!

it's good stuff. i've seen 3.25 of the 4 episodes. my fourth episode was corru--- umm ... was "unwatchable."

anyway, i thought the story was cool. animation was really nice and colorful. umm ... good looking characters ... cool looking aliens ... really ... i bet they took it from aliens the movie ^_^

I've only Seen 'Sakura Wars 2', it was dubbed version, I thought it sucked bad. That's not to say it aint anime, but it's crap really... Annoying/Stupid accents, Unco-ordinated looking mechas, and pointless stupid arguements. Oogami was the only decent person in the whole thing, they sure overwork him! PLus his mecha's the coolest, having 2 swords.

it's supposed to be 1919, so the mech's aint gonna be gundams. I think that Iris and Sakura are okay too

Ok, maybe this is a dumb question, but, I've seen a tape called "Sakura wars" and one called "Sakura Wars 2." Now, are these different Sakura wars series? or is 2 just the second volume of the series, because there seems to be abig gap of time between the two tapes. Also, these are the only ones I've ever been able to find, so is this all for the OAV or is there more? Cuz it really seems like there should be a whole lot more.

Yeah. It's terrific, just confusing because thre seems to be so much missing out of it and i don't know if more stuff is coming out.

so, the old post is brought back up. Sakura Wars 3??? REI ISH SO GLAD!!! i love the theme song. i listen to it over and over and over. I saw the sakura wars cd, but i promised myself id buy lain, so i didn't buy it. it was only ten bucks too.

Er...I think you might all be a bit confused ^^;

Sakura Wars 3 is a CONSOLE GAME, not an anime series. They just released Sakura Wars 2 for the DC and I think the 3rd installment of the game will also be for the DC. At least that's my understanding of it.

There is then the Sakura Wars OVA, which you can get commercially in the West (sounds like you've all seen that one), and the Sakura Wars TV series, which aired recently in Japan, which you can't get anywhere in the West. It was pretty popular in Japan but no one over here is fansubbing it as of yet. If you're really keen to see it you might be able to pick up some of the Canto-subbed vcds of in at your local Chinatown (just a guess, since they were all over HK when I last went).
