El Hazard, is it teh bomb?

Hi guys. Just today I saw El Hazard volume 1 VHS at my local video store and it looked interesting. But I didnt rent it out cos if there is 1 thing I hate, it is seeing an anime and never getting to know the ending (I didnt see any other hazad tapes there).

So I was wondering, how many different series of hazard is there (OVA, TV etc) and how many eps in each?

From what I can gather there are 4 series: 2 OVAs and 2 TV series. The OVAs are known as El Hazard: The Magnificant World and MW 2 and the TV series are known as The Wanderers and The Alternative World. That's all I know. I've only seen 3 eps of the 1st OVA and it's really good.

I only own the 'Magnificent World' series, thats the first OVA. To me that was the best one, and while i've seen some of the other 3...they just did not meet the overal feel 'MW' had.

OVA 1 Magnificent World - 11 episodes (overall best)
OVA 2 Magnificent World 2 (also known as El Hazard 2)
TV series - Alternative World (OVA feel, different cast)
Wanderers TV series (another re-write of the series...very kiddish)

Very close, one change to make:
Alternative World has mostly the same cast with "different extras". It's a sequel to OVA 2.

personally, out of the ova timeline (Mw, MW2 and AW), the worst one is MW2. well yea anyway, like the others said: theres 2 tv series', 2 ova's. to better understand, theres the OVA timeline and the wanderers timeline which is an alternative universe. ova timeline includes MW, MW2 and the tv series Alternative while the alternate universe timeline is just the wanderers
