i just bought the eva box set and . . .

the font they used for the subtitling leaves a lot to be desired. the letters are just too damned huge. i like the font they used for the VHS. why didn't they used those instead? maybe it might take some getting used to but as of right now, i really don't like the font. it just doesn't seem normal. all of the other anime that i have seened subbed has normal lettering. with the Eva DVD's, it is just blech.

DVD subtitles suck. They just plain suck. I don't have a TV DVD player, but I've worked with DVD content and subtitles and they're just ugly. They're like 4bit bitmap images that are overlayed ontop of the video as it's played. I imagine that there may be a way to adjust the size. Possibly check the manual for your DVD player....

I always thought that the DVD subtitle font was dependent on the player, not stored on the DVD... I guess i'm wrong
