I have suspicions of Rei every now and then... But then I shake them out of my head... Rei was more like a daughter to Gendo than anything else... But then again, there are those dirty dirty people out there that do things to their children... So, I don't rule out the possibility...

In addition the resemblence would create an even bigger possibility.

However I dont think he took advantage of her because of the way they acted around each other.

Ritsuko (and her mother) was the only one that Gendo was involed with and nobody else. When people talk about Gendo and Rei.... oh, it makes me soooo mad! Rei is like a daughter to him. I think it is pretty obvious that he cares a great deal for her. I could give examples but you have seen the show. I don't understand why people think about them in that way.

The only ppl he had a relationship (if u can call it that) with was Yui (ofcourse) then Naoko after Yui's dissapearance, then Ritsuko after her mother's death. Noone else. He used Naoko and Ritsuko! But all his efforts were aimed at being reunited with Yui once again. He didn't do anything to Rei, as she was pretty much his daughter but in the same sense a tool which he used so he could be with Yui. If you think anything more than that then you ARE perverted!

Ok. We all know that he did Ritsuko. She even says it. Ritsuko's mom, well we get the impression that something is going on but it isn't really said.

Although I am not an expert, I would have to say that he didn't touch anyone else, except Yui.

Rei. I think he has a certian caring for Rei. I could honestly say I would't suspect him of being a pedafile (whatever), which also rules out Asuka <Marzee shivers at mere thought before getting a mental image and screaming>.

It seems like Gendo was more attached to Rei than anyone else probably because he was trying to recreate Yui for himself. It seems as though most people are pawns to him. Shinji--just another pilot. I think Yui was the only person he really loved or treated like a person. He's a selfish man, and it seems he'll do anything to get his way--even if it means having sex to convince them.

Well...most people hate Gendou for what he does. I think he has a very dificult character, much like Shinji...they are very similar. Gendou does everything for the only person who loved him, he will not back away even if things he does will lead to the worlds end. Same goes for Shinji.
