I just got back from Star Wars - Episode II: AOTC. Yes, I saw it in the theatres. But that's not the point.
During the final battle, possibly prior to it also, there are a third kind of droids introduced. Not battle droids or sentinels (Battle droids are the cheaparse ones, and sentinels are the rolling shielded droids). They looked almost exactly like human-sized Jet Alones. Amazingly like it. Didn't walk as bad as JA, but too similar all the same.

Actually they do kinda, though the arent that wide as the Jet alone, but yeah they do kinda look like it

battle droids, the ones that rolled and had force feilds are called Droidikas or destoryer droids, and those other ones you mentoined acording too the toys are refered to as super battle droids. they are just standard battle droids with armor of the destoyer droids put on them.

The probablity of this battle droid being a homage to jet-alone is extermly low… Also I remeber them… They were highly agresive killing their fellow robots in the process of battle…-But they never had those rods sticking out of the back, and I thought they had a main camera eye too…

I guess the Destroyer Droids have a vague resemblance to Jet Alone but I don't think it has anything to do Eva.

Btw, I changed my avatar to Shinji because I can relate to him. I was getting tried of the Vash one.

Well I saw Star Wars again yesterday and looking at the Destroyer Droids more carefully, there ain't that much of a resemblence.
