Not to mention the most heartwarming Martial-Arts Series, ever. :bawling: :kawaii:
I like it too, it's really funny. I like Hatoko and her angel (Suzuka vif-argent in French), and also the beautiful angel with white hair and red eyes. (I can't remember her name) And Misaki is great, for sure !

Yah her angel is so fast and so cool, pretty talented for a five year old.
Side note, are there 26 episodes right? Any movies or OVAs?
there are no movies and/or OVA planned according to CLAMP
well...that's what CLAMP said, pray that they'll plan at least 1 movie ^_^

If Reiha really means the Champion's Angel which appeared in the first ep on the big screen by Tokyo Train Station, then her name is Atena (or Athena, depending on your preference).
Reiha, could you break that French name of Suzuka down for me? The only thing I know is that "argent" might mean "silver", but that's probably wrong...
suzaku, while I wouldn't mind a movie or and OVA, I get the feeling the time constraint would crush too much of the character development... that's not to say it's impossible. The manga storyline is reasonably abbreviated when compared to the anime.
orochi X, wait 'til you see Sai's angel, Shirahime, in action. She is apparently as fast even though her type designation is different. And yes there are 26 eps. Manga-wise, there are 4 volumes with the 5th pending.

The only thing i found on the net about the GBA game is this review
http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/review/R27706.html
The rest are links to ROMs . . .
Its turn based! Id find it pretty cool if it were realtime righting like Street Fighter that be great!

Not to mention that real time fighting would be so much closer to the spirit of the anime. ;)

Not if your taking from the perspective of that match that was over in one move, loved that one.

Uhh... that's not easy... vif means vivacious, bright, alive, fast... you can imagine the concept. And yes, argent means silver. I think the idea of this name is like "as quick as a flash". Anyway, what's her name in English ?

I haven't found out her English name yet but I heard that it was licensed in the States so it shouldn't be long before a forum would have to be added to cope with all the bagging it'll cop.
I'll look into the Japanese name. From memory, it's suzu = bell and ka = deer. I think I remember her wearing a bell too... I think it's a real Japanese name so there isn't anything particularly special as far as describing the angel is concerned in this case.
From you definitions, the most well known combination would be Quick Silver, the alternate name for Mercury (the element).

Do bear in mind that although Angelic Layer is a show driven by Martial Arts, it is still primarily a heartwarming drama about the hopes and dreams of the warriors rather than their battlels. :kawaii:
and if you found out the origin of Angelic Layer (the game in the anime/manga)...you'll soon see that this not your ordinary anime but your ordinary CLAMP anime :kawaii:
ask me and i could spoil to you the origin of Angelic Layer ^^

Ronin,we all know the first thing you look for in anime is cute girls in heartwarming situations lol.
But it does become more of an action series as Misaki gets her act together.I just watched episode 14 and it's more about the fighting than anything else.

There is a fine line between idealism and stupidity, and for someone who has a dead parent, I sure as hell have not crossed it. The world is an ugly place, yes. But simultaneously capable of heartbreaking beauty.
My proclamations are based upon the fact I have seen the entire series start to finish. It is ultimately about love, promises, the fulfilment of dreams and most importantly of all, the mending of broken families.
Yes, Angelic Layer is a series driven by Martial Arts, but it does not allow that aspect to smother its warm and tender heart.
hai hai
Ronin has almost got the base of the story ^^
