Silly Question

Ok, I have "Record of Lodoss War" volumes 1-6 which I love, and I know there is Legends of Crystania (a sorta sequal, but not quite) and Chronicles of the Heroic Knight..

After reading this forum, I see there is an OAV, and a TV series of Lodoss, I dunno which I've seen (I'm dumb), I was just wondering where the other version was available, and what other sequals etc there have been, and how good they are :)

The OVA/OAV is the 13 Episode series that you've seen, which was released across 6 VHS Tapes.

OVA simply means Original Video Animation (or Original Animated Video), which means it was not released on TV.

The TV series is 27 episodes long and released across 9 VHS tapes.

I would suggest getting a DVD player and getting The TV series on DVD, which comes in only 4 DVD's which you can buy as a box set for 99 Dollars at Best Buy. I love Best Buy, they sell box sets for so low (Eva Perfect collection for 100!!).

Anyways, the new OVA DVD collection with added bonus stuff is coming out. It will be 50 or 60 bucks depending on where you go.

Yes, and stay away from Legend of Crystania, that was the only sour taste in the whole Lodoss Series. :(

The Lodoss War TV series has not been released in the UK (yet).., if you want to see the TV series you may have to order the series online from either the US (which means you'll need a multi region DVD player)..., or from the far east...,

And I agree with Dark Genesis.., avoid the Legend of Crystania..., it is truely awful...,

I haven't seen it, but from what i've heard it sounds bad, and makes little sense continuity wise. What is the animation like on the TV series? I'll keep my eye out for some multi region copies on ebay as I don't really like having DVDs I can only play on my computor. Thanks for the help :)

The animation in the TV series is on a par with the artwork seen in the OAV..., if anything, the artwork is cleaner, & crisper in the TV series IMO...,
And if you do buy region free/region 0 DVD's from eBay.., please be aware that these multi-region DVD's will most likely be bootlegs..., so the subtitles (if it has any) maybe very poor indeed...,
