Does anybody know when the Initial D series is gonna be avaliable in america? I have sent an e-mail to Tokoyo Pop, but teh have not replied :( .
There have been talks of it being shown on TV... that and the fact that Tokyopop likes to LAG alot are keeping them from releasing an official release date.
Last I heard, it was going to be late this year around Oct. or Nov. but those weren't exact dates.
Hopefully they'll get on the ball and release it soon.

right on target ParticleEffect. I heard a rumor somewhere that tokyopop was trying to get Initial d on ctn. As much as I like Initial d I dont want it on t.v.
I smell a merger by the way.

if Initial D goes on Adult Swim then it'll be fine (uncut even). but if it goes to Toonami...it'll still be fine but it'll have to go with some edits.
having said that, last i heard, Initial D was going to Speedvision. and that was 2 months ago and speedvision had been kicked out in basic cable (its only through digital cable now i think) in that 2 months so Tokyopop might want to reconsider

yeh, speed vision is now "the speed channel" or "speed", its on the same channel as b4 though so i dont know if its on my digital cable or normal yet. itd be a strange day for actual anime to be on a "car" or almost any channel other than ctn and the odd showing on a movie channel of sci-fi.
*pictures some old southern racing fan watchin' initial d on speed every week*

Any source you were pointed to at this point would be selling bootlegs. It just ain't out in the US yet. Be patient. It's worth the wait to get more adult-oriented anime on US television. I predict it ends up on Adult Swim. It'd do them good to get Pilot Candidate off the air as soon as possible. Besides, they'd be replacing a show with crappy CG with another show filled with crappy CG. Thus, the cosmic balance is maintained. Don't get me wrong, Initial D is a better show than Pilot Candidate. But the CG still sucks. I wanna see GTO on Adult Swim, personally. That's when I'll know adult anime has truly flourished in this country. ('Cause there's no way GTO is showing up before the medium is totally entrenched.)

I thought Initial D was pretty cool, but there's not enough substance for me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching the great racing scens, despite the bad quality of the 3-D, but I wanted more substance.
I thought that the characters sucked and the only character development they get was getting better at driving(for the most part), a dumb story, and some wierd looking 2-D animation.
And I don't think there will be very many problems with airing Initial D on Toonami. There's only a couple parts that need to be editied out(such as Bunta's smoking and Takumi staring at Natsuki's breasts).
BTW, is the 86 a Corrolla or a Celica??? Me and my cousin had a big arguement over what the Treuno is. I say it's a Corrolla, my cousin says it's a Celica.

corolla.
why edit out that stuff when STREET RACING IS COMPLETELY ILLEGAL. That fact alone will not let it air on toonami.
