For those who have know idea what the heck a gungrave is or why the hell there reading this or are just too plain lazy to click on that link or pic atachment... GunGrave is a secret project that Yasuhiro Nightow (triguns creator) has been working on for about a year now....

I think its been brought up a few times already in this forum but back then we realy didnt know what the heck it was... Now its been officialy released that its a Ps2 game currently in the works,...
and Personaly i think its looks friggin awesome, Its has the cell shaded look to get the most possible anime feal to it , and the character designs by Nightow look incredible,..

The Main Character Called "beyond the grave" looks like a cross between dynamite neon (without the neon) from the badland gang and wolfwood... he carries around this big ass tombstone coffin thing which you can apparently use to beat the crap out of people with or shoot a huge energy blast/rocket from;.. ala wolfwoods cross...
He also has two hand guns with the o' so handy unlimited ammo which looks to be the meat and patatoes of the game.... The game play looks strange a kind of third person smash T.V. of sorts where it seams you just go around and kill kill kill,... but hey whats wrong with that?...

Altogether i think the nightow inspired anime cut scenes are probably gonna be enough to get me to buy a playstation2... once they package it for a U.S release... which looks to be a sure thing.
... but on the other hand i sacrifice small retarded children daily to Nightow and his glory, so what do i know.

just thought this was something you triguns fans might find interesting.

*bump*

I ran across a review (http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters/products/0,11114,560778,00.html) of Gungrave.
A few quotes:
Gungrave is an extremely short and easy third-person shooter that was recently released in Japan and is scheduled to hit these shores in September. But it's got a lot of style. Featuring character designs by popular anime artist Yasuhiro Naito, best known for his Trigun series, Gungrave definitely looks cool. It's also a textbook case for why great graphics don't do you much good if the underlying game is shallow.
...
Gungrave consists of six short levels, which basically are all identical, in that you must make your way from point A to point B while gunning down who-knows-how-many wimpy enemies.

Actually, it's not so much that the enemies are wimpy--it's that Grave is practically unstoppable. Though you'll often find yourself in rooms filled with enemies firing at you, their attacks cause little damage, and they usually just chip away at Grave's shield meter...Gungrave isn't challenging even without the recharge life ability. In the rare event that you run out of health (possibly against one of the game's quick yet predictable bosses), you can restart an unlimited number of times back at a checkpoint a couple of minutes earlier.
...
Most of the game's six environments aren't very interesting, and despite the game's futuristic setting, they look much like the typical sewers, subways, and slums you've probably seen before in other games. Nevertheless, Gungrave looks impressive overall. In addition to all the smoothly animated, stylized, and cel-shaded characters, the environments in Gungrave are all highly destructible.
Gamespot didn't like it much, giving it a 5.1 out of 10.

We picked up a copy of Gungrave while we were in HK and I agree it's great eye candy (and has "soundtrack cd will also be released" written all over it). It is pretty short though, we had it completed within a couple of days of starting up playing.

Nonetheless, very nice to look at, and if anyone will be at Manifest in Melbourne next weekend you'll be able to see it playing at the Tamarket stall along with .hack and other anime-related games ^^

Didn't someone make a thread about Gun Grave?

Im surprised someone didn't say anything about people being newbies or whatnot. Since the thread creator suddenly made this now (Or this be an old thread)

Man, you guys should check out Gungrave Overdose...

Takes place 3 years after the events of Gungrave. There's a few more levels, it's more challenging, and the story's good too, along with the plot twists in 'em. And you don't just control only Grave. For this one, there are two other characters you can control. Kabane, who's a blind soldier that uses guns with swords attached the butts of the guns, and Billy, a Ghost(don't know exactly what type of deadman he is, so I'll just refer to him as that for now) that uses a Guitar that shoots bolts of lightning. I've already played through all three characters. Going through the levels are relatively the same with every character, however with each character, it's a challenge. Grave is the best all-around, while Kabane is more into close range and Billy more Long ranged, or something like that. But it was awesome, anybody that's Gungrave fans should check this game out. Peace out!
