Artbox and Boxset

I saw fansubs of the first 8 or so eps and adored Kare Kano. I must buy it now, but I have two questions:

1) What is the difference between the ordinary vol.1 DVD and the one that comes with the"Collectors Artbox", besides price of course.

2) I hear the box set willl be released Fall 2002. Anyone willing to wait it out to get the box (which may be a better deal moneywise), and do you think they'll do something like they did for eva and sell the box separately as well?

That's about it. You pay a lil' more and you get a snazzy box with your first DVD. If there is more, I haven't heard of it yet.

Nope. That's because I pre-orded the first disc + box a couple months back. Now, if only it WOULD COME IN. I've been anxious to finally watch this series... anticipation...... I'm an impatient sort of guy (obviously), but getting the boxset in full WOULD be a better deal. I'm sure you'd save at least 20 bucks.

Because the first disc already has an option to have a box with it, and I haven't heard it being a limited deal, there's no reason for TRSI to sell the box separately. Then again, it IS TRSI and they're pretty good with covering all the bases, but I doubt there'll be a separate box.

The Eva one had a separate box AND a box available with the first DVD mainly because the DVD that came with the box was a revamped version. ADV left it up to the consumers to decide if they wanted just the box, or to replace their subpar first disc as well as own the box.

If I get this series I plan on going for the first DVD + artbox deal.

Problem is I've never really seen anything on this show so I'm not sure if I want to get it yet since my knowledge of it is limited.

The artbox is pretty cute, it's designed to look like a lunch box. I pre-ordered it from Amazon...still waiting for it to come in. I've seen the entire series on fansub, so I'm looking forward to filling up the artbox with all 5 dvds.

So its been confirmed the Boxset is going to get released in Fall 2002? I'll definately buy the boxset, given its a better deal, and it will probably come with the artbox anyway..

can anyone clear me up on whether the boxset is confirmed or not? otherwise, ill just order the first dvd..soon

And i don't think you'll be able to buy it seperatley but i don't know, the box has no folds like the eva one and is one piece.


On a sad note, the 2nd DVD isn't out till october now and the third not till January :(

i've been very interested in the series... though i haven't seen any of it yet. not sure whether i'll wait for the box or not though... as i'm already wanting to buy the first disc with the box now. if it's not all that too far away though {fall sounds fine :)}, then i'll probably wait for the full boxed set. plus, gives me time to consider whether or not i really want this series. from everything i've read, it seems i'll love it. but i guess there's no real telling until i actually see some of it, ne.

eitherway, i've basically put my foot down that Kare Kano is the nExt anime series i'm investing in...

should i buy it DVD by DVD, or wait for the full boxed set?
does anyone think it's something that's much better watched straight thru? i personally don't think i could wait that long between discs anyways... and i prefer watching things straight thru first viewing, though i am indeed anxious to see it.

any opinions?

I'd say go for it now since you sound like you want it. And the boxset deffinatley won't be fall of 2002. Since like i said the second DVD isn't even till october now.

I agree with Kerensky. Just start getting it now. The time in between DVD's will just let you save up the money for the next volume. :D
