Manga's release of Macross Plus: The Movie is finally over, we all know and love the story. But, Manga dropped the ball with it's poor video transfer and shameful extras. With Death and Rebirth of Evangelion coming at the end of July. Is anyone worried that they won't do a good job?

Look at what Manga is promising on the DVD:

ABOUT MOKUJI INTERACTIVE:
Mokuji Interactive ("Mokuji" meaning "table of contents" in Japanese) is an on-screen feature that gives you access to Eva-related terms, character descriptions, and other valuable information while viewing the film.

To begin, select "Activate Mokuji Interactive" from the previous menu. As you watch Death and Rebirth you will see options pop -up on-screen which you can select. Simply navigate through the menu using the arrow buttons on your remote and select an item by pressing the "enter" button. After viewing this additional information you can select "Return" to go back to where you left the movie.

The Mokuji feature is designed to be an interactive experience for both the seasoned Evangelion fan eager to learn more as well as a comprehensive introduction for those new to the story. This version of the film features English Stereo and Audio Commentary only, and is intended to supplement the version of the film on Side 1 of this disc.

RUNNING TIME: 90 minutes. action/adventure. Unrated. MATURE CONTENT INCLUDES violence, language and brief nudity. parental discretion advised.

For me: I'll wait and see, God nows they've delayed the release for months (just like Mac +). What do you think?

What? Me Worry? Anta Baka?

If I were Manga I would want to do a good job on D&R and EoE if I valued my reputation.

It would be nice if they did
put Japanese as well as English audio
onto the DVD
wonder why they didn't
it took them long enough to do so

My first post!
Anyways, I was checking my usual websites and I came across a review of death and rebirth. While it appears to be a review of a region two copy (french version) I think it does give us (people getting region one) some idea of what to expect.
The one thing that truly annoys me is the fact that they (manga), according to this article, seemed to just take the first 30 mins of eoe and stick it on the dvd and call it rebirth. The article seems to imply that there are some scenes from rebirth not in eoe. Is this true?

Death is the first part which is the wrap up and some of the extra scenes we didn't get to see. Rebirth was originally episode 25 to get people ready for EoE; However as they went along it had another 15 minutes tacked onto it for EoE.

So they staryed true to what Death & Rebirth was. And to my knowledge there wasn't anything removed from the rebirth section that was in EoE but then i haven't sceen Death & Rebirth yet.

-PjC Oh they will. From what I've read, there was a backlash of criticism for their poor handling of the Wings of Honneamise and I don't think they want that coming back to haunt them this time with such a popular series as well as the insane amount of time that it's taken to make this.

Yeah, as Kerensky said, that's how it originally is. So it sounds like they didn't change much. Booyaka.
