HI well i have not seen the movie but i really want to but i also want to see a good short summary no spoilers please but i want to know what the movie is about

oh yea and can anybody tell me the characters too

Mononoke is basically about a struggle between humans and nature. In this big forest you have giant animal gods and tree spirits and stuff, plus a human girl named San, raised by the wolf goddess Moro and grown into a princess of the spirits... nearby is Irontown, led by Lady Eboshi, whose people are tearing up the forest and mountains to get to their iron ore. There's also a tiny village far from there, home to the last remnants of a native Japanese clan, whose prince is Ashitaka. One day Ashitaka battles with a demon boar god, which leaves him with a curse. He leaves the village to face up to his destiny, and to see the world "with eyes unclouded by hate". Along the way he runs into some animal gods, as well as San, and the pool of the Great Forest Spirit (a big golden deer/elk thing)... he also finds Irontown and befriends some of its people. So Ashitaka is kinda torn between Irontown and the forest (and San), and it's pretty much up to him to try and get them to live together in peace.

Hope that's good enough for you ^^; I really recommend you see it for yourself... it's gotta be one of the best anime films out there.

wow Bekkichan! I've never seen a better summary without summaries! Excellent Job! The only thing you left out was that Kodamas are increadibly cute!:o Just foolin' ya! But CamMay Chan you deffinatly need to see it! Its an awsome movie! I just got i for chirstmas and i was so happy! Its excellent! Blockbuster might have a copy, though mine is rather scarse on anime titles. :( Maybe you'll have better luck!
