You know... Ayashi No Ceres was a pretty damn good, enjoyable series, and it was the anime that really got me into anime. Really enjoyed it I did.

Well, that's it, I've go nothing else to say, so I'll be going now. :D

One would assume you would elaborate on why you enjoyed the series if you started a thread about it.

One would assume so, wouldn't they. ;)

Actually it was just to see if anyone even remembered that this forum still existed, but now that I've got a reply, I'll be glad to.

Well, due to circumstances, the first episode of Ayashi No Ceres I saw was actually the second episode. I wasn't too clear on what was going on, but I was so enthralled by it, and so moved by her father's death, that I was hooked.

I then soon saw episode one, and the rest of them slowly, so it took me about three months to finish the series.

Anyways, now to why I liked it. For one, the story was very mysterious and captivating, and it kept getting increasingly better as it went along, especially with the major twists and turns that it had, especially that with Miori, I think her name was, in Episode 14 or 15, and also how that was resolved in episode 16 or 17. However unlike many other programs or movies with similar drastic twists, it worked extremely well with Ayashi No Ceres because of the sheer drama that the series boasted.

Which brings me to my next point. The drama in Ayashi No Ceres was simply brilliant. It was so moving, whether it made you tear with sadness, or light up with joy, its drama was truly moving and honest (most of the time). Like when Aya is sitting out on the porch talking to Yuuhi as the hauntingly serene track "Raindrops" is played in the background, or when Aya is waiting for Touya and Aki on the bridge through the night, and finally only Touya shows up, bloodied and wounded, and the look on Aya's face, both full of joy and sadness as the closing music fades in.

The next key point is the characters. The characters in Ayashi No Ceres are so deep and intruiging. The development that the characters undergo through the story, and the impact of their past, is just so compelling and moving.

In essence that is what makes Ayashi No Ceres, the wonderfully lifelike characters thrown into an intense intruiging plot, set in modern day Tokyo, yet interweaving ancient legend (Chinese, if I'm not mistaken), into a deep and compelling story, with brilliant voice acting, lovely music, and beautiful artistry.

Mind you, it does have its flaws, but I think that its perks far outweigh anything negative about it.

And that, in general, is why I enjoyed the series. :)

I concur. I recently saw the series and also enjoyed it.

Maybe I'll say something more later.
